禁食之日、猶大國人自眾邑、詣耶和華殿、爾當以我所傳耶和華之命、書之於卷者、誦於民前。

So you go to the house of the Lord on a day of fasting and read to the people from the scroll the words of the Lord that you wrote as I dictated. Read them to all the people of Judah who come in from their towns.

So you go there. Go on a day when the people are fasting. Read to them from the scroll. Read the words of the Lord you wrote down as I gave them to you. Read them to all the people of Judah who come in from their towns.

so you are to go, and on a day of fasting in the hearing of all the people in the Lord’s house you shall read the words of the Lord from the scroll that you have written at my dictation. You shall read them also in the hearing of all the men of Judah who come out of their cities.

So you go to the Temple on the next day of fasting, and read the messages from the Lord that I have had you write on this scroll. Read them so the people who are there from all over Judah will hear them.

so you must go and read from the scroll— which you wrote at my dictation— the words of the LORD in the hearing of the people at the temple of the LORD on a day of fasting. Read his words in the hearing of all the Judeans who are coming from their cities.

So you go and read from the scroll, which you have written at my dictation, the words of the Lord to the people at the Lord’s house on a day of fasting. And you shall also read them to all the people of Judah who come from their cities.

You go, therefore, and read from the scroll which you have written at my instruction, the words of the Lord, in the hearing of the people in the LORD’s house on the day of fasting. And you shall also read them in the hearing of all Judah who come from their cities.

therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of Jehovah in the ears of the people in Jehovah’s house upon the fast- day; and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.

so you must go and read from the scroll— which you wrote at my dictation— the words of the Lord in the hearing of the people at the temple of the Lord on a day of fasting. You must also read them in the hearing of all the Judeans who are coming from their cities.

Therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of the LORD in the ears of the people in the LORD’S house upon the fasting day: and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.

So you go there the next time all the people of Judah come in from their towns to fast in the LORD’s temple. Read out loud where all of them can hear you what I told you the LORD said, which you wrote in the scroll.

Therefore you go, and read from the scroll which you have written from my mouth, Yahweh’s words, in the ears of the people in Yahweh’s house on the fast day. Also you shall read them in the ears of all Judah who come out of their cities.

Baruch son of Neriah did everything Jeremiah the prophet told him to do; at the Lord’s temple he read the words of the Lord from the scroll.In the ninth month of the fifth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, a time of fasting before the Lord was proclaimed for all the people in Jerusalem and those who had come from the towns of Judah. He said:“ Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against me; they and their ancestors have been in revolt against me to this very day.The people to whom I am sending you are obstinate and stubborn. Say to them,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says.’And whether they listen or fail to listen— for they are a rebellious people— they will know that a prophet has been among them.And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns are all around you and you live among scorpions. Do not be afraid of what they say or be terrified by them, though they are a rebellious people.You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious. (niv)

Much time had been lost, and sailing had already become dangerous because by now it was after the Day of Atonement. So Paul warned them, (niv)

Jeremiah then returned from Topheth, where the Lord had sent him to prophesy, and stood in the court of the Lord’s temple and said to all the people, (niv)

“ This is to be a lasting ordinance for you: On the tenth day of the seventh month you must deny yourselves and not do any work— whether native- born or a foreigner residing among you—because on this day atonement will be made for you, to cleanse you. Then, before the Lord, you will be clean from all your sins.It is a day of sabbath rest, and you must deny yourselves; it is a lasting ordinance. (niv)

‘ Hear the word of the Lord to you, king of Judah, you who sit on David’s throne— you, your officials and your people who come through these gates. (niv)

“ Now therefore say to the people of Judah and those living in Jerusalem,‘ This is what the Lord says: Look! I am preparing a disaster for you and devising a plan against you. So turn from your evil ways, each one of you, and reform your ways and your actions.’ (niv)

“ The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. Hold a sacred assembly and deny yourselves, and present a food offering to the Lord.Do not do any work on that day, because it is the Day of Atonement, when atonement is made for you before the Lord your God.Those who do not deny themselves on that day must be cut off from their people.I will destroy from among their people anyone who does any work on that day.You shall do no work at all. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live.It is a day of sabbath rest for you, and you must deny yourselves. From the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening you are to observe your sabbath.” (niv)

“ Stand at the gate of the Lord’s house and there proclaim this message:“‘ Hear the word of the Lord, all you people of Judah who come through these gates to worship the Lord. (niv)

“ This is what the Lord says: Stand in the courtyard of the Lord’s house and speak to all the people of the towns of Judah who come to worship in the house of the Lord. Tell them everything I command you; do not omit a word. (niv)
