The king also commanded that Jeremiah be given a loaf of fresh bread every day as long as there was any left in the city. So Jeremiah was put in the palace prison.

So King Zedekiah gave orders, and Jeremiah was placed in the guard’s courtyard. He was given a loaf of bread each day from the bakers’ street until all the bread was gone from the city. So Jeremiah remained in the guard’s courtyard.

你要在夜間起來，在主面前整夜呼求，向祂傾心吐意；你要為餓昏街頭的孩童向主舉手禱告。「耶和華啊，求你看看，你曾這樣對付過誰呢？母親豈能吃自己的孩子？祭司和先知豈能在主的聖所中被殺？

耶和華掌管君王的心，易如支配壟溝的流水。

進了羅馬城後，保羅獲准在衛兵的看守下自己一個人住。

你可以喝基立溪的水，我已吩咐烏鴉在那裡供應你食物。」以利亞遵從耶和華的話，到約旦河東的基立溪旁住下來。烏鴉每天早晚為他叼來餅和肉，他喝溪裡的水。

果然如耶和華所言，我堂兄弟哈拿篾到護衛兵的院子裡對我說：「我在便雅憫境內的亞拿突有一塊田，求你買下它，因為你理當買下它。求你買下吧！」我知道這是耶和華的旨意。

我哭得眼睛失明，心如刀割，肝膽欲碎，因為人民慘遭毀滅，兒童和嬰孩昏倒在街頭。孩子們問母親：「哪裡有餅和酒呢？」他們像受傷的勇士，昏倒在城中的街頭，在母親懷中奄奄一息。

我為這福音受苦，甚至像犯人一樣被囚禁，但上帝的道是囚禁不住的。

死於刀下的勝過死於饑餓的，後者因田間缺糧而活活餓死。我的百姓遭毀滅時，慈母親手煮自己的兒女充饑。

人所行的若蒙耶和華喜悅，耶和華必使仇敵與他和好。

要信靠耶和華，要行善，要在這片土地上安然度日。

在你們的上帝耶和華所賜給你們的土地上，他們要把你們圍困在各個城邑中，直到你們所依賴的高大堅固的城牆都倒塌。「當你們被敵人圍困、陷入絕境時，你們必吃自己的親生骨肉——你們的上帝耶和華賜給你們的兒女。因為被敵人困在城中，饑餓難熬，連你們中間最溫柔體貼的男人也要獨自吞吃子女的肉，不肯分給自己的兄弟、愛妻和剩下的兒女。

所以，你不要羞於為我們的主做見證，也不要以我這為主被囚的人為恥，要靠著上帝的能力和我一同為福音受苦。

嬰兒乾渴難忍，舌頭緊貼上膛；孩童乞求食物，卻無人給予。昔日錦衣玉食、生活奢侈的，如今卻流落街頭，躺臥在糞堆中。

過了兩年，波求·非斯都接任總督，腓利斯為了討好猶太人，仍然把保羅留在監裡。

他們在災難中不致絕望，在饑荒時仍得飽足。

我們因饑餓而發熱，皮膚熱如烤爐。

便派人把耶利米從護衛兵的院子提出來，讓沙番的孫子、亞希甘的兒子基大利帶他回家。從此，耶利米就生活在百姓當中。耶利米被監禁在護衛兵院子裡的時候，耶和華對他說：

所以，我這為主被囚禁的勸你們，既然蒙了上帝的呼召，就要過與所蒙的呼召相稱的生活。

耶和華的聖民啊，你們要敬畏祂，因為敬畏祂的人一無所缺。壯獅也會忍饑挨餓，但尋求耶和華的人什麼福分都不缺。
