So Jeremiah stayed in the court of the guard until the day that Jerusalem was taken.

So they drew up Jeremiah with the cords, and took him up out of the dungeon; and Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard.

“ My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon. He is likely to die in the place where he is, because of the famine; for there is no more bread in the city.”

Now at that time the king of Babylon’s army was besieging Jerusalem. Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the guard, which was in the king of Judah’s house.

In the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was severe in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.

The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires.

When we entered into Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard, but Paul was allowed to stay by himself with the soldier who guarded him.

You shall drink from the brook. I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.”So he went and did according to Yahweh’s word; for he went and lived by the brook Cherith that is before the Jordan.The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook.

“ So Hanamel my uncle’s son came to me in the court of the guard according to Yahweh’s word, and said to me,‘ Please buy my field that is in Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin; for the right of inheritance is yours, and the redemption is yours. Buy it for yourself.’“ Then I knew that this was Yahweh’s word.

My eyes fail with tears. My heart is troubled. My liver is poured on the earth, because of the destruction of the daughter of my people, because the young children and the infants swoon in the streets of the city.They ask their mothers,“ Where is grain and wine?” when they swoon as the wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul is poured out into their mothers’ bosom.

in which I suffer hardship to the point of chains as a criminal. But God’s word isn’t chained.

Those who are killed with the sword are better than those who are killed with hunger; For these pine away, stricken through, for lack of the fruits of the field.The hands of the pitiful women have boiled their own children. They were their food in the destruction of the daughter of my people.

When a man’s ways please Yahweh, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.

They will besiege you in all your gates until your high and fortified walls in which you trusted come down throughout all your land. They will besiege you in all your gates throughout all your land which Yahweh your God has given you.You will eat the fruit of your own body, the flesh of your sons and of your daughters, whom Yahweh your God has given you, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemies will distress you.The man who is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye will be evil toward his brother, toward the wife whom he loves, and toward the remnant of his children whom he has remaining,so that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he will eat, because he has nothing left to him, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemy will distress you in all your gates.The tender and delicate woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye will be evil toward the husband that she loves, toward her son, toward her daughter,toward her young one who comes out from between her feet, and toward her children whom she bears; for she will eat them secretly for lack of all things in the siege and in the distress with which your enemy will distress you in your gates.

Therefore don’t be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner; but endure hardship for the Good News according to the power of God,

Our skin is black like an oven, because of the burning heat of famine.

they sent, and took Jeremiah out of the court of the guard, and committed him to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, that he should carry him home. So he lived among the people.Now Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah, while he was shut up in the court of the guard, saying,

I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called,

Oh fear Yahweh, you his saints, for there is no lack with those who fear him.The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, but those who seek Yahweh shall not lack any good thing.
