耶穌回答：「有一個人從耶路撒冷下耶利哥去，落在強盜手中。他們剝去他的衣裳，把他打個半死，丟下他走了。偶然有一個祭司從那條路下來，看見他就從另一邊過去了。又有一個利未人來到那裏，看見他，也照樣從另一邊過去了。可是，有一個撒瑪利亞人路過那裏，看見他就動了慈心，上前用油和酒倒在他的傷處，包裹好了，扶他騎上自己的牲口，帶他到旅店裏去，照應他。第二天，他拿出兩個銀幣來，交給店主，說：『請你照應他，額外的費用，我回來時會還你。』你想，這三個人哪一個是落在強盜手中那人的鄰舍呢？」

「你去告訴古實人以伯‧米勒說，萬軍之耶和華－以色列的上帝如此說：看哪，我說降禍不降福的話必臨到這城，到那時必在你面前實現。到那日我必拯救你，你必不致交在你所怕的人手中。這是耶和華說的。我定要搭救你，你必不致倒在刀下，卻要保全自己的性命，因你倚靠我。這是耶和華說的。」

他把約雅斤和他的母親、后妃、官員，以及這地的貴族，都從耶路撒冷擄到巴比倫去了，

古實人豈能改變皮膚呢？豹豈能改變斑點呢？若能，你們這善於行惡的便能行善了。

腓利就起身去了。不料，有一個埃塞俄比亞人，是個有大權的太監，在埃塞俄比亞女王甘大基的手下總管銀庫，他上耶路撒冷去禮拜。回程中，他坐在車上，正念着以賽亞先知的書，聖靈對腓利說：「你去！靠近那車走。」腓利就跑到太監那裏，聽見他正在念以賽亞先知的書，就說：「你明白你所念的嗎？」他說：「沒有人指教我，怎能明白呢？」於是他請腓利上車，與他同坐。他所念的那段經文是這樣：「他像羊被牽去宰殺，又像羔羊在剪毛的人手下無聲，他也是這樣不開口。他卑微的時候，得不到公義的審判，誰能述說他的身世？因為他的生命從地上被奪去。」太監回答腓利說：「請問，先知說這話是指誰，是指自己，還是指別人呢？」腓利就開口，從這段經文開始，對他傳講耶穌的福音。二人正沿路往前走，到了有水的地方，太監說：「看哪！這裏有水，有甚麼能阻止我受洗呢？」

我又告訴你們，從東從西，將有許多人來，在天國裏與亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各一同坐席；本國的子民反而被趕到外邊黑暗裏去，在那裏要哀哭切齒了。」

猶大的領袖、耶路撒冷的領袖、官員、祭司，和從牛犢切塊中經過的這地的眾百姓，

從東從西，從南從北，將有人來，在上帝的國裏坐席。看吧，在後的，將要在前；在前的，將要在後。」

我出到城門，在廣場安排座位，年輕人見我而迴避，老年人起身站立。王子都停止說話，用手摀口；領袖靜默無聲，舌頭貼住上膛。耳朵聽見了，稱我有福；眼睛看見了，就稱讚我。因我拯救了哀求的困苦人和無人幫助的孤兒。將要滅亡的為我祝福，我使寡婦心中歡呼。我穿上公義，它遮蔽我；我的公平如外袍和冠冕。我作瞎子的眼，瘸子的腳。我作貧窮人的父；我不認識之人的案件，我也去查明。我打破不義之人的大牙，從他牙齒中奪走他所搶的。
