When Zedekiah king of Judah and all the soldiers saw them, they fled; they left the city at night by way of the king’s garden, through the gate between the two walls, and headed toward the Arabah.

King Zedekiah and all the soldiers saw them. Then they ran away. They left the city at night. They went by way of the king’s garden. They went out through the gate between the two walls. And they headed toward the Arabah Valley.

When Zedekiah king of Judah and all the soldiers saw them, they fled, going out of the city at night by way of the king’s garden through the gate between the two walls; and they went toward the Arabah.

When King Zedekiah of Judah and all the soldiers saw that the Babylonians had broken into the city, they fled. They waited for nightfall and then slipped through the gate between the two walls behind the king’s garden and headed toward the Jordan Valley.

When King Zedekiah of Judah and all the fighting men saw them, they fled. They left the city at night by way of the king’s garden through the city gate between the two walls. They left along the route to the Arabah.

When King Zedekiah of Judah and all his soldiers saw them, they tried to escape. They departed from the city during the night. They took a path through the king’s garden and passed out through the gate between the two walls. Then they headed for the Jordan Valley.

When Zedekiah the king of Judah and all the men of war saw them, then they fled, and went out of the city by night, by the way of the king’s garden, through the gate between the two walls; and he went out toward the Arabah.

希西家发愤图强，重建所有拆毁了的城墙，墙上筑起瞭望楼，又建造一道外墙，并且巩固大卫城内的米罗，又制造了很多兵器和盾牌。

行动迅速的不能逃走，强而有力的不能施展他的勇力，勇士也不能救自己；

耶和华必使你在仇敌面前被击败；你从一条路出去攻击他们，必在他们面前从七条路逃跑；你必成为天下万国惊骇的对象。

至于你们剩下的人，我必使他们在仇敌之地胆战心惊；风吹落叶也会吓跑他们；他们必逃跑，好像逃避刀剑一样；虽然无人追赶，他们却跌倒。

城终于被攻破了，所有的战士就在夜间从靠近王的花园的两墙中间的那门，逃跑出城。那时迦勒底人在四围攻城；他们就往亚拉巴的方向逃走。迦勒底人的军队追赶王，在耶利哥的原野上把他追上了；他的全军都离开他四散了。他们把王擒住，把他解到利比拉巴比伦王那里；他们就宣判他的罪。他们又在西底家眼前杀了他的众子，并且把西底家的眼睛弄瞎，然后用铜链锁住他，把他带到巴比伦去。

城终于被攻破了，所有的战士就在夜间从靠近王的花园的两墙中间的那门，逃跑出城。那时迦勒底人在四围攻城；他们就往亚拉巴的方向逃走。迦勒底人的军队追赶，在耶利哥的原野上把西底家追上了；他的全军都离开他四散了。他们把王擒住，把他解到哈马地的利比拉巴比伦王那里；他就宣判他的罪。巴比伦王在利比拉，当着西底家眼前杀了他的众子，也杀了犹大所有的领袖，并且把西底家的眼睛弄瞎，然后用铜链锁住他。巴比伦王把他带到巴比伦去，关在牢里，直到他去世的日子。

因为主耶和华以色列的圣者这样说：“你们得救在于悔改和安息，你们得力在于平静和信靠。”但你们竟不愿意。你们却说：“不！我们要骑马奔跑。”所以你们真的要逃跑；你们又说：“我们要骑快马。”所以那些追赶你们的，也必快速！

我向你们变脸，你们就败在仇敌面前；恨恶你们的要管辖你们；虽然没有人追赶，你们仍然逃跑。

但你若不出去归降巴比伦王的将领，这城就必交在迦勒底人的手中；他们必放火烧毁这城，你自己也不能从他们的手里逃脱。’”西底家王对耶利米说：“我害怕那些已向迦勒底人投降的犹大人，恐怕迦勒底人把我交在他们手中，他们就会凌辱我。”耶利米说：“迦勒底人必不会把你交给他们。求你听从我对你所说的耶和华的话；这样，你就可以平安无事，你的性命也可以存活。

他们中间的君王必在天黑的时候，把东西扛在肩头上，从他们挖穿的墙带出去；他必蒙住自己的脸，不能看见这地。

他们必因饥荒消瘦，被热病和毒症消灭；我也要打发野兽用牙齿咬他们，和土中的蛇类用毒液害他们。外有刀剑，内有惊恐，使人丧亡，使少男少女，婴孩和白发老人，尽都丧亡。我原想：“我要把他们分散到各处，把他们的名号都从人间除灭。”但我惧怕仇人激动我，恐怕敌人误会了，又恐怕他们说：“是我们的手高举了，并不是耶和华作了这一切事。”’因为他们是缺乏计谋的国，他们心中没有见识。如果你们有智慧，就可以明白这事，认清自己将来的结局了。如果不是他们的磐石把他们出卖了，如果不是耶和华把他们交出来，一人怎能追赶一千人，二人怎能使万人逃跑呢？
