At the sound of horsemen and archers every town takes to flight. Some go into the thickets; some climb up among the rocks. All the towns are deserted; no one lives in them.

People can hear the sound of horsemen. Men armed with bows are coming. The people in every town run away. Some of them go into the bushes. Others climb up among the rocks. All the towns are deserted. No one is living in them.

At the noise of horseman and archer every city takes to flight; they enter thickets; they climb among rocks; all the cities are forsaken, and no man dwells in them.

地上的君王、臣宰、將軍、富戶、壯士，和一切為奴的、自主的，都藏在山洞和巖石穴裏，向山和巖石說：「倒在我們身上吧！把我們藏起來，躲避坐寶座者的面目和羔羊的忿怒；因為他們忿怒的大日到了，誰能站得住呢？」

城被攻破，一切兵丁就在夜間從靠近王園兩城中間的門逃跑。迦勒底人正在四圍攻城，王就向亞拉巴逃走。迦勒底的軍隊追趕王，在耶利哥的平原追上他；他的全軍都離開他四散了。迦勒底人就拿住王，帶他到在利比拉的巴比倫王那裏審判他。在西底家眼前殺了他的眾子，並且剜了西底家的眼睛，用銅鍊鎖着他，帶到巴比倫去。

一人叱喝，必令千人逃跑；五人叱喝，你們都必逃跑；以致剩下的，好像山頂的旗杆，岡上的大旗。

猶大王西底家和一切兵丁看見他們，就在夜間從靠近王園兩城中間的門出城逃跑，往亞拉巴逃去。迦勒底的軍隊追趕他們，在耶利哥的平原追上西底家，將他拿住，帶到哈馬地的利比拉、巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒那裏；尼布甲尼撒就審判他。巴比倫王在利比拉、西底家眼前殺了他的眾子，又殺了猶大的一切貴冑，

所以耶和華使亞述王的將帥來攻擊他們，用鐃鈎鈎住瑪拿西，用銅鍊鎖住他，帶到巴比倫去。

我看見主站在祭壇旁邊；他說：你要擊打柱頂，使門檻震動，打碎柱頂，落在眾人頭上；所剩下的人，我必用刀殺戮，無一人能逃避，無一人能逃脫。

以色列百姓見自己危急窘迫，就藏在山洞、叢林、石穴、隱密處，和坑中。

那時，人要向大山說：倒在我們身上！向小山說：遮蓋我們！
