However, before Jeremiah turned to go, Nebuzaradan added,“ Go back to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed over the towns of Judah, and live with him among the people, or go anywhere else you please.” Then the commander gave him provisions and a present and let him go.

But before Jeremiah turned to go, Nebuzaradan continued,“ Go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam. The king of Babylon has appointed Gedaliah to be over the towns of Judah. Go and live with him among your people. Or go anywhere else you want to.” Ahikam was the son of Shaphan. The commander gave Jeremiah food and water. He also gave him a gift. Then he let Jeremiah go.

If you remain, then return to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon appointed governor of the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people. Or go wherever you think it right to go.” So the captain of the guard gave him an allowance of food and a present, and let him go.

If you decide to stay, then return to Gedaliah son of Ahikam and grandson of Shaphan. He has been appointed governor of Judah by the king of Babylon. Stay there with the people he rules. But it’s up to you; go wherever you like.” Then Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, gave Jeremiah some food and money and let him go.

When Jeremiah had not yet turned to go, Nebuzaradan said to him,“ Return to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed over the cities of Judah, and stay with him among the people or go wherever it seems right for you to go.” So the captain of the guards gave him a ration and a gift and released him.

Go back and live with him among the people. Or go wherever else you choose.” Then the captain of the guard gave Jeremiah some food and a present and let him go.

Now while he had not yet gone back,“ Go back then,” he said,“ to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go.” So the captain of the guard gave him food and a present, and let him go.

一天，以利沙到了大馬士革。當時亞蘭王便·哈達正在生病，他得知上帝的僕人來了，便對哈薛說：「你帶著禮物去見上帝的僕人，請他求問耶和華，看看我這病能否痊癒。」哈薛用四十頭駱駝馱著大馬士革的各種美物前去拜見以利沙。到了那裡，他站在以利沙面前說：「你兒子亞蘭王便·哈達派我來問你，他的病能否痊癒？」

尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利和同來的十個人突然起來拔刀殺了巴比倫王委任管理猶大的沙番的孫子、亞希甘的兒子基大利，

吩咐希勒迦祭司、沙番的兒子亞希甘、米該亞的兒子亞革波、書記沙番和王的臣僕亞撒雅：

巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒任命基大利治理猶大的餘民。基大利是沙番的孫子、亞希甘的兒子。猶大眾將領和他們的下屬聽到巴比倫王委任基大利治理猶大的消息後，便都到米斯巴見基大利。他們是尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利、加利亞的兒子約哈難、尼陀法人單戶篾的兒子西萊雅、瑪迦人雅撒尼亞。基大利向他們和他們的下屬發誓，說：「你們不用害怕那些迦勒底官員。你們住在這地方服侍巴比倫王，就會平安無事。」

人所行的若蒙耶和華喜悅，耶和華必使仇敵與他和好。

第二天，船停泊在西頓港，猶流寬待保羅，准他探望當地的朋友，接受他們的照應。

這以斯拉是位律法教師，精通以色列的上帝耶和華賜下的摩西律法。他的上帝耶和華幫助他，使王批准他的一切要求。

王問我：「你有什麼要求？」我向天上的上帝禱告後，回答說：「如果王認為好，如果僕人在王面前蒙恩，請王派我到猶大，重建我祖墳所在的城邑。」當時王后坐在王的旁邊，王問我：「你要去多久？什麼時候回來？」我告訴王一個日期，王欣然批准。我又說：「如果王認為好，求王賜我詔書，通知河西省長准我經過前往猶大。求王再發一道詔書，通知管理王室園林的亞薩，吩咐他供給我木材，用來做聖殿堡壘的門梁及建造城牆和我住的房子。」王批准了我的請求，因為我的上帝施恩幫助我。

現在我解除你手上的鎖鏈，釋放你。你可以跟我去巴比倫，我必善待你；如果你不想去，也可以。你看，整片土地都在你眼前，你想去哪裡都可以。

這樣，我們可以放膽地說：「主是我的幫助，我必不懼怕，人能把我怎麼樣？」

主啊，求你側耳聽你僕人的禱告，垂聽那些喜愛敬畏你名的眾僕人的祈求，使你僕人今天亨通，在王面前蒙恩。」我是王的侍酒總管。

耶和華說：「我必拯救你，我必使仇敵在災禍、困難來臨時哀求你。

他們處處尊敬我們，在我們啟航的時候，又贈送我們途中所需用的物品。

耶和華掌管君王的心，易如支配壟溝的流水。

猶大王約雅斤被擄後第三十七年，即巴比倫王以未·米羅達元年十二月二十五日，巴比倫王恩待約雅斤，釋放了他，並好言相待，使他的地位高過被擄到巴比倫的其他各王。約雅斤脫去了囚服，終生與巴比倫王一起吃飯。在他有生之年，巴比倫王供應他每天的需用，直到他去世。
