亞伯蘭聽見他姪兒被擄去，就把三百一十八個生在他家中、受過訓練的壯丁全都出動去追，一直到但。在夜間，他和他的僕人分隊擊敗了敵人，並且追殺他們，直到大馬士革北邊的何把。他把一切被擄掠的財物奪回，也把他姪兒羅得和他的財物，以及人和婦女都奪回來。
