“ Remnant of Judah, the Lord has told you,‘ Do not go to Egypt.’ Be sure of this: I warn you today

“ The Lord has spoken to you who are left in Judah. He has said,‘ Do not go to Egypt.’ Here is something you can be sure of. I am warning you about it today.

The Lord has said to you, O remnant of Judah,‘ Do not go to Egypt.’ Know for a certainty that I have warned you this day

“ Listen, you remnant of Judah. The Lord has told you:‘ Do not go to Egypt!’ Don’t forget this warning I have given you today.

The LORD has spoken concerning you, remnant of Judah:‘ Don’t go to Egypt.’ Know for certain that I have warned you today!

The Lord has spoken to you, you remnant of Judah,“ Do not go to Egypt!” You know for certain that I have admonished you today.

“ The Lord has said concerning you, O remnant of Judah,‘ Do not go to Egypt!’ Know certainly that I have admonished you this day.

Jehovah hath spoken concerning you, O remnant of Judah, Go ye not into Egypt: know certainly that I have testified unto you this day.

The Lord has spoken concerning you, remnant of Judah:‘ Don’t go to Egypt.’ Know for certain that I have warned you today!

The LORD hath said concerning you, O ye remnant of Judah; Go ye not into Egypt: know certainly that I have admonished you this day.

“ The LORD has told you people who remain in Judah,‘ Do not go to Egypt.’ Be very sure of this: I warn you here and now.

“ Yahweh has spoken concerning you, remnant of Judah,‘ Don’t go into Egypt!’ Know certainly that I have testified to you today.

The king, moreover, must not acquire great numbers of horses for himself or make the people return to Egypt to get more of them, for the Lord has told you,“ You are not to go back that way again.” (niv)

“ But they were disobedient and rebelled against you; they turned their backs on your law. They killed your prophets, who had warned them in order to turn them back to you; they committed awful blasphemies. (niv)

“ You warned them in order to turn them back to your law, but they became arrogant and disobeyed your commands. They sinned against your ordinances, of which you said,‘ The person who obeys them will live by them.’ Stubbornly they turned their backs on you, became stiff- necked and refused to listen.For many years you were patient with them. By your Spirit you warned them through your prophets. Yet they paid no attention, so you gave them into the hands of the neighboring peoples. (niv)

“ Woe to the obstinate children,” declares the Lord,“ to those who carry out plans that are not mine, forming an alliance, but not by my Spirit, heaping sin upon sin;who go down to Egypt without consulting me; who look for help to Pharaoh’s protection, to Egypt’s shade for refuge.But Pharaoh’s protection will be to your shame, Egypt’s shade will bring you disgrace.Though they have officials in Zoan and their envoys have arrived in Hanes,everyone will be put to shame because of a people useless to them, who bring neither help nor advantage, but only shame and disgrace.”A prophecy concerning the animals of the Negev: Through a land of hardship and distress, of lions and lionesses, of adders and darting snakes, the envoys carry their riches on donkeys’ backs, their treasures on the humps of camels, to that unprofitable nation,to Egypt, whose help is utterly useless. Therefore I call her Rahab the Do-Nothing. (niv)

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, who rely on horses, who trust in the multitude of their chariots and in the great strength of their horsemen, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel, or seek help from the Lord.Yet he too is wise and can bring disaster; he does not take back his words. He will rise up against that wicked nation, against those who help evildoers.But the Egyptians are mere mortals and not God; their horses are flesh and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out his hand, those who help will stumble, those who are helped will fall; all will perish together. (niv)

With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them,“ Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” (niv)

But if you refuse to surrender, this is what the Lord has revealed to me: (niv)

But if you do warn the righteous person not to sin and they do not sin, they will surely live because they took warning, and you will have saved yourself.” (niv)

Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of any of you.For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. (niv)

And whether they listen or fail to listen— for they are a rebellious people— they will know that a prophet has been among them. (niv)

And when many disasters and calamities come on them, this song will testify against them, because it will not be forgotten by their descendants. I know what they are disposed to do, even before I bring them into the land I promised them on oath.” (niv)

Although the Lord sent prophets to the people to bring them back to him, and though they testified against them, they would not listen. (niv)

and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister. The Lord will punish all those who commit such sins, as we told you and warned you before. (niv)

But the king rebelled against him by sending his envoys to Egypt to get horses and a large army. Will he succeed? Will he who does such things escape? Will he break the treaty and yet escape? (niv)

So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. (niv)
