何沙雅子亞薩哩亞、迦哩亞子約哈難、及驕侈之士、告耶利米曰、爾出言妄誕、我之上帝耶和華未嘗遣爾、告我云、勿往居埃及、

何沙雅子亞薩利亞、加利亞子約哈難、及諸狂傲之人、告耶利米曰、爾出言虛誑、主我之天主、未嘗遣爾諭我云、勿往居伊及、

Azariah son of Hoshaiah and Johanan son of Kareah and all the arrogant men said to Jeremiah,“ You are lying! The Lord our God has not sent you to say,‘ You must not go to Egypt to settle there.’

After that, Azariah, the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, spoke to Jeremiah. And all the proud men joined them. They said,“ You are lying! The Lord our God hasn’t sent you to speak to us. He hasn’t told you to say,‘ You must not go to Egypt and make your homes there.’

Azariah the son of Hoshaiah and Johanan the son of Kareah and all the insolent men said to Jeremiah,“ You are telling a lie. The Lord our God did not send you to say,‘ Do not go to Egypt to live there,’

Azariah son of Hoshaiah and Johanan son of Kareah and all the other proud men said to Jeremiah,“ You lie! The Lord our God hasn’t forbidden us to go to Egypt!

then Azariah son of Hoshaiah, Johanan son of Kareah, and all the other arrogant men responded to Jeremiah,“ You are speaking a lie! The LORD our God has not sent you to say,‘ You must not go to Egypt to stay there for a while!’

Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the arrogant men said to Jeremiah,“ You are telling a lie! The Lord our God has not sent you to say,‘ You are not to enter Egypt to reside there’;

that Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men spoke, saying to Jeremiah,“ You speak falsely! The Lord our God has not sent you to say,‘ Do not go to Egypt to dwell there.’

then spake Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, Thou speakest falsely: Jehovah our God hath not sent thee to say, Ye shall not go into Egypt to sojourn there;

then Azariah son of Hoshaiah, Johanan son of Kareah, and all the other arrogant men responded to Jeremiah,“ You are speaking a lie! The Lord our God has not sent you to say,‘ You must not go to Egypt to live there for a while!’

Then spake Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, Thou speakest falsely: the LORD our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there:

Then Azariah son of Hoshaiah, Johanan son of Kareah, and other arrogant men said to Jeremiah,“ You are telling a lie! The LORD our God did not send you to tell us,‘ You must not go to Egypt and settle there.’

then Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men spoke, saying to Jeremiah,“ You speak falsely. Yahweh our God has not sent you to say,‘ You shall not go into Egypt to live there;’

尼布甲尼撒王曾經使他指著神起誓，他還是背叛了尼布甲尼撒；他頑固執拗，不肯歸向耶和華以色列的神。

他們不信耶和華，說：“他不會作甚麼，災禍必不臨到我們，我們也不會看見刀劍和饑荒。先知不過是一陣風，主的道也不在他們裡面；他們所說的必臨到他們身上。”

那些受咒詛的傲慢人，和那些偏離了你誡命的人，你必斥責他們。

敬畏耶和華就是恨惡邪惡；驕傲、狂妄、邪惡的行為、乖謬的口，我都恨惡。

但神所賜的恩更大；所以聖經上說：“神對抗驕傲的人，賜恩給謙卑的人。”

就是高傲的眼、說謊的舌頭、流無辜人血的手、

在滅亡以先，必有驕傲；在跌倒以前，心中高傲。存謙卑的心與窮乏人在一起，勝過與驕傲人同分戰利品。

加利亞的兒子約哈難和與他一起的眾將領，就奪回了全部餘民，包括軍兵、婦女、孩童和宮中的臣宰，就是尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利在刺殺亞希甘的兒子基大利以後，從米斯巴擄走的。約哈難把這些人都從基遍帶回來。

你仍然向我的人民自高，不讓他們離開嗎？

迦勒底人自高自大，心不正直；然而義人必因信得生（“必因信得生”或譯：“必因他的信實得生”）。財富（傳統作“酒”，今照死海古卷譯作“財富”）使人奸詐狂傲，不得安寧；擴張慾望，如同陰間；又像死亡，永不滿足。他們招聚萬國，集合萬民，都歸自己。

心裡驕傲的人都是耶和華厭惡的；他們必不免受罰。

我們飽受那些安逸的人的嘲笑，和驕傲的人的藐視，到了極點。

願耶和華剪除一切說諂媚話的嘴唇，和說誇大話的舌頭。

所有的人民，就是以法蓮和撒瑪利亞的居民，都要知道這事；他們憑著驕傲和自大的心說：“磚牆倒塌了，我們就用鑿好的石頭來建築；桑樹砍倒了，我們就用香柏樹替換。”

法老回答：“耶和華是誰，我要聽他的話，讓以色列人離開呢？我不認識耶和華，也不讓以色列人離開。”

你們要聽，要留心聽，不要驕傲；因為是耶和華說的。

耶利米向眾民說完了耶和華他們的神吩咐他的一切話，就是耶和華他們的神差遣他去對他們說的一切話。

照樣，你們青年人要順服年長的。就是你們各人也要彼此以謙卑為裝束，因為“神對抗驕傲的人，賜恩給謙卑的人。”

加利亞的兒子約哈難和在田野的眾將領，都到米斯巴去見基大利，對他說：“亞捫王巴利斯派尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利來殺你，你知道嗎？”亞希甘的兒子基大利不相信他們。後來加利亞的兒子約哈難在米斯巴私下告訴基大利說：“請容我去把尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利殺了，必沒有人知道；為甚麼要讓他殺你，以致集合到你那裡來的所有猶大人都分散，猶大餘剩的人都滅亡呢？”但亞希甘的兒子基大利對加利亞的兒子約哈難說：“你不可作這事，因為你所說關於以實瑪利的事都是謊話！”

惡人面帶驕傲，說：“耶和華必不追究！”在他的一切思想中，都沒有神。他的道路時常穩妥，你的判斷高超，他卻不放在眼內；他對所有的仇敵都嗤之以鼻。

免得我吃飽了，就不認你，說：‘耶和華是誰？’又恐怕我貧窮，就偷竊，污瀆了我神的名。
