他們卻不聽從，毫不留心，不肯離開他們的惡行，仍向別神燒香。

你要倚靠耶和華，並要行善；你要住在地上，以信實為糧食。

先知向王講話的時候，王對他說：“我們立了你作王的謀士嗎？住口吧！你要挨打嗎？”先知就住口，可是又說：“我知道神已定意消滅你，因為你作了這事，又不聽從我的勸戒。”

‘你們若決意住在這地，我就建立你們，必不拆毀；栽植你們，必不拔除；因我為那已經降在你們身上的災禍回心轉意。你們所怕的巴比倫王，你們不要懼怕他；你們不要懼怕他（這是耶和華的宣告），因為我與你們同在，要拯救你們，要搭救你們脫離他的手。我要向你們施憐憫，他也會憐憫你們，使你們歸回自己的土地。’但是，你們若說：‘我們不住在這地’，不聽從耶和華你們的神的話，

於是我說：“智慧勝過武力”，但是那個窮人的智慧被藐視，他的話也沒有人聽從。
