毀滅來到；他們求平安，卻沒有平安。災害加上災害，風聲接連風聲；他們要向先知尋求異象，但祭司的教誨、長老的謀略都必斷絕。

你們也將聽見打仗和打仗的風聲。注意，不要驚慌！因為這些事必須發生，但這還不是終結。

你們要在境內豎立大旗，在列邦中吹角，使列邦預備攻擊巴比倫。要招集亞拉臘、米尼、亞實基拿各國前來攻擊它，派將軍攻擊它，使馬匹上來如粗暴的蝗蟲；使列邦和瑪代君王，省長和官員，他們所管的全地，都預備攻擊它。

你們要磨尖箭頭，抓住盾牌。論到巴比倫，耶和華定意要毀滅它，所以激起瑪代君王的心；這是耶和華報仇，為他的聖殿報仇。

差遣使者在水面上，坐蒲草船過海。你們這些疾行的使者，要到高大光滑的民那裏去；那民遠近都畏懼，是強大好征服的國，土地有河流穿過。世上所有的居民，住在地上的人哪，山上大旗豎起時，你們要看，號角吹響時，你們要聽。

看哪，因為我必驚動他的心，他要聽見風聲就歸回本地，在那裏我必使他倒在刀下。』」

你們要在荒涼的山上豎立大旗，向他們揚聲，揮手招呼他們進入貴族之門。我吩咐我所分別為聖的人，召喚我的勇士，就是我那狂喜高傲的人，為要執行我的怒氣。
