故暴獸野犬、雌雄鴕鳥、必巢其中、無人居處、歷代若此。

故野獸野獸或作野貓豺狼豺狼或作野犬同巢其中、鴕鳥亦棲於彼、必永無居民、世世無人居處、

“ So desert creatures and hyenas will live there, and there the owl will dwell. It will never again be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation.

“ Desert creatures and hyenas will live in Babylon. And so will owls. People will never live there again. It will not be lived in for all time to come.

“ Therefore wild beasts shall dwell with hyenas in Babylon, and ostriches shall dwell in her. She shall never again have people, nor be inhabited for all generations.

“ Soon Babylon will be inhabited by desert animals and hyenas. It will be a home for owls. Never again will people live there; it will lie desolate forever.

Therefore, desert creatures will live with hyenas, and ostriches will also live in her. It will never again be inhabited or lived in through all generations.

“ Therefore the desert creatures will live there with the jackals; The ostriches also will live in it. It will never again be inhabited Nor lived in from generation to generation.

“ Therefore the wild desert beasts shall dwell there with the jackals, And the ostriches shall dwell in it. It shall be inhabited no more forever, Nor shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.

Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wolves shall dwell there, and the ostriches shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.

Therefore, desert creatures will live with hyenas, and ostriches will also live in her. It will never again be inhabited or lived in through all generations.

Therefore desert creatures and jackals will live there. Ostriches will dwell in it too. But no people will ever live there again. No one will dwell there for all time to come.

Therefore the wild animals of the desert with the wolves will dwell there. The ostriches will dwell therein; and it will be inhabited no more forever; neither will it be lived in from generation to generation.

其内必永无人烟，世世代代无人居住。阿拉伯人也不在那里支搭帐棚；牧羊的人也不使羊群卧在那里。只有旷野的走兽卧在那里；咆哮的兽满了房屋。鸵鸟住在那里；野山羊在那里跳舞。豺狼必在它宫中呼号；野狗必在它华美殿内吼叫。巴比伦受罚的时候临近；它的日子必不长久。

他大声喊着说：“巴比伦大城倾倒了！倾倒了！成了鬼魔的住处和各样污秽之灵的巢穴，并各样污秽可憎之雀鸟的巢穴。

七十年满了以后，我必刑罚巴比伦王和那国民，并迦勒底人之地，因他们的罪孽使那地永远荒凉。这是耶和华说的。

我必使巴比伦为箭猪所得，又变为水池；我要用灭亡的扫帚扫净它。这是万军之耶和华说的。”

又说：“耶和华啊，你曾论到这地方说：要剪除，甚至连人带牲畜没有在这里居住的，必永远荒凉。你念完了这书，就把一块石头拴在书上，扔在幼发拉底河中，说：‘巴比伦因耶和华所要降与他的灾祸，必如此沉下去，不再兴起，人民也必困乏。’”耶利米的话到此为止。

鹈鹕、箭猪却要得为业；猫头鹰、乌鸦要住在其间。耶和华必将空虚的准绳，混沌的线铊，拉在其上。以东人要召贵胄来治国；那里却无一个，首领也都归于无有。以东的宫殿要长荆棘；保障要长蒺藜和刺草；要作野狗的住处，鸵鸟的居所。旷野的走兽要和豺狼相遇；野山羊要与伴偶对叫。夜间的怪物必在那里栖身，自找安歇之处。箭蛇要在那里做窝，下蛋，抱蛋，生子，聚子在其影下；鹞鹰各与伴偶聚集在那里。你们要查考宣读耶和华的书。这都无一缺少，无一没有伴偶；因为我的口已经吩咐，他的灵将它们聚集。他也为它们拈阄，又亲手用准绳给它们分地；它们必永得为业，世世代代住在其间。

他的城邑变为荒场、旱地、沙漠，无人居住，无人经过之地。

有一位大力的天使举起一块石头，好像大磨石，扔在海里，说：“巴比伦大城也必这样猛力地被扔下去，决不能再见了。弹琴、作乐、吹笛、吹号的声音，在你中间决不能再听见；各行手艺人在你中间决不能再遇见；推磨的声音在你中间决不能再听见；灯光在你中间决不能再照耀；新郎和新妇的声音，在你中间决不能再听见。你的客商原来是地上的尊贵人；万国也被你的邪术迷惑了。”先知和圣徒，并地上一切被杀之人的血，都在这城里看见了。

人必不从你那里取石头为房角石，也不取石头为根基石；你必永远荒凉。这是耶和华说的。”

巴比伦必成为乱堆，为野狗的住处，令人惊骇、嗤笑，并且无人居住。他们要像少壮狮子咆哮，像小狮子吼叫。

你们的母巴比伦就极其抱愧，生你们的必然蒙羞。他要列在诸国之末，成为旷野、旱地、沙漠。因耶和华的忿怒，必无人居住，要全然荒凉。凡经过巴比伦的要受惊骇，又因他所遭的灾殃嗤笑。
