七月十七日，方舟停在亞拉臘山上。

你們要在萬國中傳揚，宣告，豎立大旗；要宣告，不可隱瞞，說：「巴比倫被攻取，彼勒蒙羞，米羅達驚惶。巴比倫的神像都蒙羞，它的偶像都驚惶。」

因為必有許多國家和大君王使迦勒底人作奴僕；我也必照他們的行為，按他們手所做的報應他們。」

你們要豎立大旗，攻擊巴比倫的城牆；要堅固瞭望臺，派定守望的設下埋伏；因為耶和華指着巴比倫居民所說的，他不但這樣定意，也已成就。

你們要在荒涼的山上豎立大旗，向他們揚聲，揮手招呼他們進入貴族之門。我吩咐我所分別為聖的人，召喚我的勇士，就是我那狂喜高傲的人，為要執行我的怒氣。聽啊，山間有喧鬧的聲音，好像有許多百姓聚集，聽啊，多國之民聚集鬧鬨的聲音；這是萬軍之耶和華召集作戰的軍隊。他們從遠方來，從天邊來，耶和華和他惱恨的兵器要毀滅全地。

歌篾的兒子是亞實基拿、低法和陀迦瑪。

看哪，有一民族從北方而來，有一大國和許多君王被激起，從地極來到。他們拿弓和槍，性情殘忍，毫不留情；他們的聲音像海浪澎湃。巴比倫啊，他們騎着馬，如上戰場的人擺列隊伍，要攻擊你。

蝗蟲的形狀好像預備上陣的戰馬一樣，頭上戴的好像金冠冕，臉面好像男人的臉面，頭髮像女人的頭髮，牙齒像獅子的牙齒；牠們胸前有甲，好像鐵甲；又有翅膀的響聲，好像許多車馬奔跑上陣的聲音。牠們有尾巴像蠍子，長着毒刺，尾巴上的毒刺有能力傷害人五個月。牠們有無底坑的使者作牠們的王，按着希伯來話名叫亞巴頓，希臘話名叫亞玻倫。

萬軍之耶和華指着自己起誓說：我必使人遍滿各處像蝗蟲一樣，他們必吶喊攻擊你。

世上所有的居民，住在地上的人哪，山上大旗豎起時，你們要看，號角吹響時，你們要聽。

雖然它的樹林不易穿過，敵人卻要砍伐，因敵人比蝗蟲還多，不可勝數。這是耶和華說的。

一日，他在他的神明尼斯洛廟裏叩拜，他兒子亞得米勒和沙利色用刀殺了他，然後逃到亞拉臘地；他兒子以撒‧哈頓接續他作王。

城中若吹角，百姓豈不戰兢嗎？災禍若臨到一城，豈非耶和華所降的嗎？

因為那些人帶着他們的牲畜和帳棚上來，像蝗蟲那樣多；人和駱駝無數，都進入境內，毀壞全地。

便雅憫人哪，當逃離耶路撒冷，在提哥亞吹號角，在伯‧哈基琳升信號，因為有災禍與大毀滅從北方逼近。

我要招聚萬國與耶路撒冷爭戰；城必被攻取，房屋被搶奪，婦女被玷污，城中的一半被擄去；但其餘的百姓不會從城中被剪除。

那是黑暗、陰森的日子，是密雲、烏黑的日子，如同黎明籠罩山嶺。有一隊蝗蟲，又大又強，自古以來沒有像這樣的，以後直到萬代也必沒有。牠們前面有火吞噬，後面有火焰燒盡。牠們未到以前，地如伊甸園，過去以後，卻成了荒涼的曠野，沒有一樣能躲避牠們。

在那裏，火要吞滅你，刀必殺戮你，如蝻子般吞滅你。你人數增多如蝻子，增多如蝗蟲吧！你增添商賈，多過天上的星宿；如蝻子蛻皮飛去。你的領袖多如蝗蟲，你的將軍彷彿成羣的蝗蟲；天涼時齊落在籬笆上，太陽一出就飛去，人不知道落在何處。
