I will make her officials and wise men drunk, her governors, officers and warriors as well; they will sleep forever and not awake,” declares the King, whose name is the Lord Almighty.

行诡诈的人是可诅咒的！他的群畜中虽有公羊，他许了愿，却将有残疾的献给主。因我是大君王，我的名在列国中是可畏的。这是万军之耶和华说的。”

当夜，迦勒底王伯沙撒被杀。玛代人大流士年六十二岁，取了迦勒底国。

伯沙撒王为他的一千大臣摆设盛筵，与这一千人饮酒。伯沙撒在欢饮之间，吩咐人将他父尼布甲尼撒从耶路撒冷圣殿所掳掠的金银器皿拿来，好使王与大臣、王后、妃嫔用这器皿饮酒。于是他们把圣殿，就是耶路撒冷神殿中所掳掠的金器皿拿来，王和大臣、王后、妃嫔就用这器皿饮酒。他们饮酒，赞美金、银、铜、铁、木、石造的神明。

耶和华的使者出去，在亚述营中杀了十八万五千人。清早有人起来，看哪，都是死尸。

我心慌乱，惊恐威吓我。我所渴望的黄昏，反成为我的恐惧。有人摆设筵席，铺上地毯，又吃又喝。“官长啊，起来，抹亮盾牌。”

她怎样待人，也要怎样待她，按她所行的加倍地报应她；用她调酒的杯加倍调给她喝。她怎样荣耀自己，怎样奢华，也要使她照样痛苦悲哀。因她心里说：‘我坐了皇后的位，并不是寡妇，绝不至于悲哀。’

你们像杂乱的荆棘，像喝醉了的人，又如枯干的碎秸，全然烧灭。

地上的君王，与她行淫、一同奢华的，看见烧她的烟，就必为她哭泣哀号；

祸哉！那给邻舍酒喝，加上毒物，使人喝醉，为要看见他们下体的人！你满受羞辱，不得荣耀；你也喝吧，显明你是未受割礼的！耶和华右手的杯必传到你那里，你的荣耀就变为羞辱。黎巴嫩所受的残暴必淹没你，野兽所遭遇的毁灭使你惊吓；因你流人的血，向土地、城镇和全城的居民施行残暴。
