我們為甚麼靜坐不動呢？聚集攏來哦，我們好進入有堡壘的城，在那裏寂滅掉；因為永恆主我們的上帝命定我們寂滅，將毒苦水給我們喝，因為我們犯罪得罪了永恆主。

我儕靜坐何為乎、其會集而入鞏固之邑、隕亡於彼、我上帝耶和華飲我以毒水、使我隕亡、緣我干犯耶和華也、

先知告民曰、我儕坐此曷故、必會眾入城、在彼默默無語、我獲罪於我之上帝耶和華、使我嘗膽、無詞可述。

Why are we sitting here? Gather together! Let us flee to the fortified cities and perish there! For the Lord our God has doomed us to perish and given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against him.

Why are we sitting here? Let’s gather together! Let’s run to the cities that have high walls around them! Let’s die there! The Lord our God has sentenced us to death. He has given us poisoned water to drink. That’s because we’ve sinned against him.

Why do we sit still? Gather together; let us go into the fortified cities and perish there, for the Lord our God has doomed us to perish and has given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against the Lord.

“ Then the people will say,‘ Why should we wait here to die? Come, let’s go to the fortified towns and die there. For the Lord our God has decreed our destruction and has given us a cup of poison to drink because we sinned against the Lord.

Why are we just sitting here? Gather together; let’s enter the fortified cities and perish there, for the LORD our God has destroyed us. He has given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.

The people say,“ Why are we just sitting here? Let us gather together inside the fortified cities. Let us at least die there fighting, since the LORD our God has condemned us to die. He has condemned us to drink the poison waters of judgment because we have sinned against him.

“ Why do we sit still? Assemble yourselves! Let’s enter into the fortified cities, and let’s be silent there; for Yahweh our God has put us to silence, and given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against Yahweh.

因此，萬軍之耶和華論到先知如此說：「看哪，我必使他們吃茵蔯，喝苦水；因為褻瀆的事出於耶路撒冷的先知，遍及各地。」

所以萬軍之耶和華－以色列的神如此說：「看哪，我必將茵蔯給這百姓吃，又用苦水給他們喝。

求你記得我的困苦和流離，它如茵蔯和苦膽一般；

巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒上來攻打這地的時候，我們說：『來吧，我們到耶路撒冷去，躲避迦勒底的軍隊和亞蘭的軍隊。』這樣，我們才住在耶路撒冷。」

大衛對亞比篩說：「現在比基利的兒子示巴對我們的危害恐怕比押沙龍更大。你要帶領你主的一些僕人追趕他，免得他得了堅固的城鎮，在我們眼前逃脫。」

他們拿苦膽給我當食物；我渴了，他們拿醋給我喝。

士兵拿苦膽調和的酒給耶穌喝。他嘗了，不肯喝。

惟恐你們中間有人，或男或女，或宗族或支派，今日心裏偏離耶和華－我們的神，去事奉那些國的神明，又怕你們中間有根長出苦菜和茵蔯來。

你們要在猶大傳揚，在耶路撒冷宣告，說：「當在國中吹角，高聲呼叫說：『你們當聚集！我們好進入堅固城！』應當向錫安豎立大旗。逃吧，不要遲延，因我必使災禍與大毀滅從北方來到。

死人的叔伯要把屍首抬到屋外焚燒，就問房屋內間的人說：「你那裏還有別人嗎？」他說：「沒有。」又說：「不要作聲，不可提耶和華的名。」

於是，摩西對亞倫說：「這就是耶和華所吩咐的，說：『我在那親近我的人中要顯為聖；在全體百姓面前，我要得着榮耀。』」亞倫就默默不言。

凡血肉之軀都當在耶和華面前靜默無聲，因為他從他的聖所奮起了。

人在年輕時負軛，這是好的。他當安靜獨坐，因為這是耶和華加在他身上的。

我默然無聲，連好話也不出口，我的愁苦就更加深。

惟耶和華在他的聖殿中，全地都當在他面前肅靜。

耶和華啊，我們承認自己的罪惡和我們祖先的罪孽，因我們得罪了你。

祭司要帶那婦人站在耶和華面前，使她蓬頭散髮，再把紀念的素祭，就是疑忌的素祭，放在她的手掌，祭司手裏捧着致詛咒的苦水。祭司要叫婦人起誓，對她說：『若沒有人與你同寢，若你未曾背着丈夫做污穢的事，你就能免去這致詛咒的苦水。但你背着丈夫，玷污自己，跟丈夫以外的人同寢。』祭司叫婦人賭咒起誓，祭司對她說：『當耶和華使你大腿萎縮，肚腹腫脹時，願耶和華使你在你百姓中成為詛咒和咒罵；願這致詛咒的水進入你體內，使你肚腹腫脹，大腿萎縮。』婦人要說：『阿們，阿們。』「祭司要把這詛咒寫在冊上，然後用苦水塗去，又叫婦人喝這致詛咒的苦水，這詛咒的水要進入她裏面，令她痛苦。

他們的葡萄樹是所多瑪的葡萄樹，是蛾摩拉田園所長的；他們的葡萄是毒葡萄，整串都是苦的。

在城門口有四個長痲瘋的人，他們彼此說：「我們為何坐在這裏等死呢？我們若說要進城去，城裏有饑荒，我們必死在那裏。若我們在這裏坐着不動，也必死。現在，來吧，我們去向亞蘭人的軍隊投降。若他們饒我們的命，我們就活着；若殺我們，我們就死吧！」
