你们若不听这话，我的心必因你们的骄傲暗自哭泣；我的眼必痛哭流泪，因为耶和华的羊群被掳去了。

因此我说：“不要看我，让我痛哭吧！不要因我百姓的毁灭竭力安慰我。”

我的百姓啊，应当腰束麻布，滚在灰中。要悲伤，如丧独子般痛痛哭号，因为灭命的忽然临到我们。

我的眼睛流泪，以致失明；我的心肠烦乱，肝胆落地，都因我的百姓遭毁灭，又因孩童和吃奶的在城内的广场上昏厥。

我的眼睛流泪成河，因为他们不守你的律法。

因我百姓的损伤，我也受了损伤。我哀恸，惊惶将我抓住。在基列岂没有乳香呢？在那里岂没有医生呢？我百姓为何得不着医治呢？

所以，我要为西比玛的葡萄树哀哭，像雅谢人一样哀哭。希实本、以利亚利啊，我要以眼泪浇灌你，你因夏天果子和收割的庄稼，欢呼声已经止息了。

你，人子啊，要叹息，在他们眼前断了腰，愁苦地叹息。若有人对你说：‘你为什么叹息呢？’你就说：‘因为有风声传来，人心惶惶，双手发软，精神衰败，膝弱如水。看哪，它临近了，一定会发生。’这是主耶和华说的。”

你要向他们说这些话：愿我眼泪汪汪，昼夜不息，因为少女—我百姓受了重大的打击，伤口极其严重。

我昼夜以眼泪当食物，人不住地对我说：“你的神在哪里呢？”

他们的心哀求主。锡安的城墙啊，愿你日夜泪流如河，不让自己休息，你眼中的瞳人也不歇息。夜间每逢时辰开始，要起来呼喊，在主面前倾心吐意如水。你的孩童在街头上挨饿昏厥，你要为他们的性命向主举手。

因我百姓遭毁灭，我的眼睛泪流成河。我的眼睛流泪不停，流泪不止，

我的肺腑啊，我的肺腑啊，我心疼痛！我的心在我里面烦躁不安。我不能静默不言，因我已听见角声和打仗的喊声。
