谁有智慧明白这事呢？谁曾受过耶和华的指教可以讲解这事呢？为什么这片土地被蹂躏，变得荒凉、杳无人迹？

谁是智慧人可以解明这事？耶和华的口向谁说过，以致他可以传讲这事？为什么这地被毁坏，像旷野般荒凉，无人经过呢？

誰是智慧人可以明白這事？永恆主的口向誰說過，使他可以傳說：遍地為甚麼滅沒、荒廢像野地，無人經過呢？

孰為智者、克明斯事、耶和華與誰言、使之宣告、斯土何為被燬遭焚、有若曠野、無人經之、

遍地蕭條、恍若沙漠、人蹤罕至、焉得哲人、蒙予啟示、而言其故。

誰為智者、能明此事、誰蒙主諭、能宣示國緣何而滅亡、地緣何而焚燬、成如沙漠、無人來往、

Who is wise enough to understand this? Who has been instructed by the Lord and can explain it? Why has the land been ruined and laid waste like a desert that no one can cross?

Who is wise enough to understand these things? Who has been taught by the Lord? Who can explain them? Why has the land been destroyed so completely? Why has it become like a desert that no one can go across?

Who is the man so wise that he can understand this? To whom has the mouth of the Lord spoken, that he may declare it? Why is the land ruined and laid waste like a wilderness, so that no one passes through?

Who is wise enough to understand all this? Who has been instructed by the Lord and can explain it to others? Why has the land been so ruined that no one dares to travel through it?

Who is the person wise enough to understand this? Who has the LORD spoken to, that he may explain it? Why is the land destroyed and scorched like a wilderness, so no one can pass through?

Who is the wise person who may understand this? And who is he to whom the mouth of the Lord has spoken, that he may declare it? Why is the land destroyed, laid waste like the desert, so that no one passes through?

Who is the wise man who may understand this? And who is he to whom the mouth of the Lord has spoken, that he may declare it? Why does the land perish and burn up like a wilderness, so that no one can pass through?

Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken, that he may declare it? wherefore is the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that none passeth through?

Who is the man wise enough to understand this? Who has the Lord spoken to, that he may explain it? Why is the land destroyed and scorched like a wilderness, so no one can pass through?

Who[ is] the wise man, that may understand this? and[ who is he] to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth[ and] is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through?

I said,“ Who is wise enough to understand why this has happened? Who has a word from the LORD that can explain it? Why does the land lie in ruins? Why is it as scorched as a desert through which no one travels?”

Who is wise enough to understand this? Who is he to whom the mouth of Yahweh has spoken, that he may declare it? Why has the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that no one passes through?

智慧人必明白这些事，聪明人必知道这一切。耶和华的道是正直的，义人行在其中，罪人却在其上跌倒。

凡有智慧的必在这些事上留心，他必思想耶和华的慈爱。

使肥沃之地变为荒芜的盐地，都因当地居民的邪恶。

这殿虽然崇高，将来凡经过的人必惊讶，嗤笑，说：‘耶和华为何向这地和这殿如此行呢？’人必说：‘因为此地的人离弃领他们祖先出埃及地的耶和华—他们的神，去亲近别神，敬拜事奉它们，所以耶和华使这一切灾祸临到他们。’”

“你将这一切的话指示这百姓，他们若问你说：‘耶和华为什么说，要降这大灾祸攻击我们呢？我们有什么罪孽呢？我们向耶和华—我们的神犯了什么罪呢？’你就对他们说：‘因为你们祖先离弃了我，随从别神，事奉敬拜它们，却离弃我，不遵守我的律法。这是耶和华说的。你们行恶比你们祖先更甚，看哪，各人随从自己顽梗的恶心行事，不听从我。所以我必将你们从这地赶出，直赶到你们和你们祖先素不认识之地。你们在那里昼夜必事奉别神，因为我必不再向你们施恩。’”

其中的先知同谋背叛，如咆哮的狮子抓撕掠物。他们吞灭人命，抢夺财宝，使这地寡妇增多。其中的祭司曲解我的律法，亵渎我的圣物，不分别圣与俗，也不使人分辨洁净和不洁净，又遮眼不顾我的安息日；在他们中间连我也被亵慢了。其中的领袖仿佛野狼抓撕掠物，流人的血，伤害人命，为得不义之财。其中的先知为他们粉刷，见虚假的异象，行谎诈的占卜，说：‘主耶和华如此说’，其实耶和华并没有说。这地的百姓惯行欺压抢夺之事，亏负困苦和贫穷的人，欺压寄居者，没有公平。我在他们中间寻找一人重修城墙，在我面前为这地站在缺口上，使我不致灭绝它，却连一个也找不着。所以我把愤怒倾倒在他们身上，用烈怒之火消灭他们，照他们所做的报应在他们头上。这是主耶和华说的。”

百姓若说：‘耶和华—我们的神为什么向我们行这一切事呢？’你就对他们说：‘你们怎样离弃我，在你们的地上事奉外邦神明，也必照样在不属你们的地上事奉外族人。’”当在雅各家传扬，在犹大宣告，说：

“许多国的百姓经过这城，就彼此谈论说：‘耶和华为何向这大城这样做呢？’必有人回答说：‘是因他们离弃了耶和华—他们神的约，事奉敬拜别神。’”

你们的后代，就是接续你们兴起的子孙，和远方来的外邦人，看见这地的灾祸，以及耶和华所降于这地的疾病，遍地都被硫磺和盐所侵蚀，不能耕种，没有出产，连草都长不出来，好像耶和华在怒气和愤怒中所倾覆的所多玛、蛾摩拉、押玛、洗扁一样，万国必说：‘耶和华为什么向此地这样做呢？为什么要大发烈怒呢？’人必说：‘这是因为这地的人离弃了耶和华—他们列祖的神领他们出埃及地的时候与他们所立的约，去事奉别神，敬拜他们所不认识的神明，这是耶和华未曾允许的。所以耶和华的怒气向这地发作，将这书上所写的一切诅咒都降在这地上。耶和华在怒气、愤怒、大恼恨中将他们从本地拔出来，扔到别的地上，像今日一样。’

诵读这书上预言的，和那些听见又遵守其中所记载的，都是有福的，因为时候近了。

惟愿他们有智慧，能明白这事，他们就会想到自己的结局。

你们因看见他们的所作所为，得到安慰，就会知道我在耶路撒冷所做的并非毫无缘故。这是主耶和华说的。”
