And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said,“ Moses, Moses!” And he said,“ Here I am.”Then He said,“ Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.”Moreover He said,“ I am the God of your father— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

“ I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.

And He said,“ Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”Then Jacob asked, saying,“ Tell me Your name, I pray.” And He said,“ Why is it that you ask about My name?” And He blessed him there.So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel:“ For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”

Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”And the Lord said to him,“ Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.”Then he said to Him,“ If now I have found favor in Your sight, then show me a sign that it is You who talk with me.Do not depart from here, I pray, until I come to You and bring out my offering and set it before You.” And He said,“ I will wait until you come back.”So Gideon went in and prepared a young goat, and unleavened bread from an ephah of flour. The meat he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot; and he brought them out to Him under the terebinth tree and presented them.The Angel of God said to him,“ Take the meat and the unleavened bread and lay them on this rock, and pour out the broth.” And he did so.Then the Angel of the Lord put out the end of the staff that was in His hand, and touched the meat and the unleavened bread; and fire rose out of the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened bread. And the Angel of the Lord departed out of his sight.Now Gideon perceived that He was the Angel of the Lord. So Gideon said,“ Alas, O Lord GOD! For I have seen the Angel of the Lord face to face.”Then the Lord said to him,“ Peace be with you; do not fear, you shall not die.”So Gideon built an altar there to the Lord, and called it The-LORD-Is-Peace. To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.Now it came to pass the same night that the Lord said to him,“ Take your father’s young bull, the second bull of seven years old, and tear down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the wooden image that is beside it;and build an altar to the Lord your God on top of this rock in the proper arrangement, and take the second bull and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the image which you shall cut down.”

These things Isaiah said when he saw His glory and spoke of Him.

And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him,“ Are You for us or for our adversaries?”So He said,“ No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him,“ What does my Lord say to His servant?”Then the Commander of the LORD’s army said to Joshua,“ Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” And Joshua did so.Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in.And the Lord said to Joshua:“ See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor.

And he blessed Joseph, and said:“ God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, The God who has fed me all my life long to this day,The Angel who has redeemed me from all evil, Bless the lads; Let my name be named upon them, And the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; And let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.”

And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above it.Also from the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around.Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. So when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking.

So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

it happened as the flame went up toward heaven from the altar— the Angel of the Lord ascended in the flame of the altar! When Manoah and his wife saw this, they fell on their faces to the ground.When the Angel of the Lord appeared no more to Manoah and his wife, then Manoah knew that He was the Angel of the Lord.And Manoah said to his wife,“ We shall surely die, because we have seen God!”But his wife said to him,“ If the Lord had desired to kill us, He would not have accepted a burnt offering and a grain offering from our hands, nor would He have shown us all these things, nor would He have told us such things as these at this time.”

So the Lord went His way as soon as He had finished speaking with Abraham; and Abraham returned to his place.

They say to their mothers,“ Where is grain and wine?” As they swoon like the wounded In the streets of the city, As their life is poured out In their mothers’ bosom.

Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman; And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him,

He took his brother by the heel in the womb, And in his strength he struggled with God.Yes, he struggled with the Angel and prevailed; He wept, and sought favor from Him. He found Him in Bethel, And there He spoke to us—That is, the Lord God of hosts. The Lord is His memorable name.

Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.“ He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
