納大那曰：『辣卞誠天主之子、義塞之君也。』

耶穌乃復問曰：『爾等覓誰？』眾曰『納匝勒之耶穌也！』

耶穌夙知諸事之必臨於身、乃出而謂之曰：『爾等覓誰？』

既得之於彼岸、乃詢之曰：『辣卞何時來此？』

暮夜來謁耶穌曰：『夫子吾人深知子之來教誨也、乃奉天主之聖命、蓋子所行之靈蹟、苟非天主所輔佑、其孰能行之？』

共訪加利利伯賽大之斐理伯而求之曰：『先生、吾儕欲見耶穌。』

因共謁如望曰：『夫子曩在約但河外、所為作證者、今亦授洗、人盡趨之。』

耶穌既至、仰見其人、呼之曰『石開速下、今日予應宿爾家。』

又喜受敬市中、呼為「辣比。」爾曹勿稱「辣比、」蓋爾師唯一、爾曹皆屬兄弟。

厥妹瑪麗、靜坐足前聆訓。

耶穌詢之曰：『女子胡為泣、欲覓誰耶？』瑪麗以為園丁、對曰：『先生、爾若移之去者、請示置之何處、俾吾得收領其遺體。』耶穌曰：『瑪麗！』瑪麗即回顧、以猶太語呼之曰：『辣波尼！』辣波尼之為言「夫子」也。

求主惟一事。足以慰幽衷。終身居主宅。陶然醉春風。逍遙聖殿裏。瞻仰樂無窮。

主止、命引至、問何求。曰：『求主賜明！』

如望使徒既返、耶穌向眾論如望曰：『曩者爾赴曠野、欲何睹乎？其飄搖風中之蘆葦乎？爾之去也、果欲何睹？將身被錦繡者乎？被華服而酖晏樂者、惟宮中有焉。然則爾之去也、將欲睹先知乎？予曰是矣、然不僅先知而已也。經云：「予遣使爾前、為爾備道、」即斯人也！

時與耶穌偕行者極眾、耶穌顧謂之曰：

於是伯鐸祿下樓、出見曰：『予即汝所覓者、汝來何為？』

主回顧伯鐸祿、伯鐸祿方憶主所語今宵雞鳴前、行見爾三背予之言、

惟脫魔者求與偕往、耶穌遣之歸、

因是予一邀即來、無所猶豫。敢問何為見邀？』

乃起而歸父、相距尚遙、父已瞥見、頓觸慈心、趨而迓之、抱其頸而吻焉。
