And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

Andrew brought Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said,“ You are Simon, the son of John. You will be called Cephas”( which is translated Peter).

He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him, and said,“ You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas”( which is by interpretation, Peter).

When they had eaten breakfast, Jesus asked Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?”“ Yes, Lord,” he said to Him,“ You know that I love You.”“ Feed My lambs,” He told him.A second time He asked him,“ Simon, son of John, do you love Me?”“ Yes, Lord,” he said to Him,“ You know that I love You.”“ Shepherd My sheep,” He told him.He asked him the third time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved that He asked him the third time,“ Do you love Me?” He said,“ Lord, You know everything! You know that I love You.”“ Feed My sheep,” Jesus said.

whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come— everything is yours,

What I am saying is this: Each of you says,“ I’m with Paul,” or“ I’m with Apollos,” or“ I’m with Cephas,” or“ I’m with Christ.”

When James, Cephas, and John, recognized as pillars, acknowledged the grace that had been given to me, they gave the right hand of fellowship to me and Barnabas, agreeing that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

Jesus replied to them,“ Didn’t I choose you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is the Devil!”He was referring to Judas, Simon Iscariot’s son, one of the Twelve, because he was going to betray Him.

And Jesus responded,“ Simon son of Jonah, you are blessed because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father in heaven.And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the forces of Hades will not overpower it.

When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said,“ Go away from me, because I’m a sinful man, Lord!”

Jesus, however, would not entrust Himself to them, since He knew them alland because He did not need anyone to testify about man; for He Himself knew what was in man.

These are the names of the 12 apostles: First, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

Don’t we have the right to be accompanied by a Christian wife like the other apostles, the Lord’s brothers, and Cephas?

and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve.

He appointed the Twelve: To Simon, He gave the name Peter;

Simon Peter, Thomas( called“ Twin”), Nathanael from Cana of Galilee, Zebedee’s sons, and two others of His disciples were together.

Then Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him and said about him,“ Here is a true Israelite; no deceit is in him.”“ How do you know me?” Nathanael asked.“ Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you,” Jesus answered.

I’m not speaking about all of you; I know those I have chosen. But the Scripture must be fulfilled: The one who eats My bread has raised his heel against Me.
