And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said,“ You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas”( which, when translated, is Peter).

and he brought Simon to Jesus. When Jesus saw him, He said,“ You are Simon, son of John. You will be called Cephas”( which means“ Rock”).

And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

Andrew brought Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said,“ You are Simon, the son of John. You will be called Cephas”( which is translated Peter).

He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him, and said,“ You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas”( which is by interpretation, Peter).

饍畢、耶穌問西門伯鐸祿曰：『若納子西門、汝之愛我、有勝於儕輩者乎？』對曰：『然、主固知我之孺慕也。』主曰：『飼吾羔！』再問曰：『若納子西門、汝果愛我乎？』對曰：『然、主固知我之孺慕也。』主曰：『牧吾羊！』三問曰：『若納子西門、汝果慕我乎？』伯鐸祿因三次見問、不覺愀然曰：『主乎、爾固無所不知、當知吾之慕爾矣。』主曰：『飼吾羊！

葆樂也、亞波羅也、基法也、宇宙也、生也、死也、現在也、將來也、一切之一切也、皆屬於爾矣、

試舉一例、爾中或云『我乃葆樂之人、』或云『我乃亞波羅之人、』或云『我乃基法之人、』或云『我乃基督之人。』

彼等既見予所受聖寵之不虛、於是號稱教會柱石之雅各伯基法及若望、相率與予及巴拿巴殷勤握手、以表心契；我往外邦、而彼等則傳道於受割禮者。

永生之道、惟主有之、主實為天主之聖者、此則吾輩所深信而確知者也。』耶穌曰：『爾等十二人、非予所親選乎？其中且有一妖魔焉。』

耶穌曰：『福哉若納子西門：蓋以此啟汝者、非屬血氣肉情；在天吾父、實牖爾衷。予亦語汝、汝乃磐石、予將建吾教會於斯石上、地獄之門、無以勝之。

西門伯鐸祿睹此、俯伏耶穌膝下、曰：『主其離我罪人。』

惟耶穌於眾人、亦不予以輕信、蓋彼洞幽燭微、於人無所不悉、固無待外證耳。

十二門徒之名如下：第一、西門亦名伯鐸祿、其弟安德烈、

又豈無權攜一奉主之婦人出門傳道、一如其他宗徒、與主之諸弟、以及基法之所為耶？

復活後見於基法、又見於十二徒，

十二人者、即西門錫名伯鐸祿、

西門伯鐸祿方與多默一名提諦莫、加利利嘉納人納大那慈伯德之二子、及其他二徒相聚處。

耶穌見納大那來訪、指之曰：『此誠義塞人、心無詭譎者！』納大那曰：『汝何由知我？』耶穌曰：『斐理伯未招汝、汝憩於鳳果樹下時、予已見汝、』

然爾曹中亦非人人能語此。予非不識予之所選、顧經中所言：「食吾之食、舉踵相敵、」亦當見應耳。
