爾等宜以基督耶穌之心為心。夫彼神也、與天主等齊而不居焉、乃屈尊紆貴、甘自為僕、而降生為人。其為人也、復謙之又謙、損之又損、惟天主之命是從；鞠躬盡瘁、死而後已、終至致命於十字架上。因是天主亦舉之於萬有之上、鍚以聖名、舉世無匹、萬古流芳、使天上人間乃至地下一切生靈、莫不聞其名而屈膝、眾口同聲、咸稱耶穌基督為主、而歸榮於天主聖父焉。

而致景仰於耶穌乎？耶穌者、乃吾人信德之金聲玉振也。曩者彼為前途不可思議之神樂、

耶穌已為吾人先入閟帷矣。彼即立為永世靡替之大司祭、與麥基德同一班次者也。

吾父宅中、廣廈萬間、足庇爾眾。如其不然、予必早已相告矣。今予前往、必為爾預備居所；既往既備、當重來接爾、務使予之所在、爾等亦得與俱。

夫人娶婦而為新壻、新壻之友立而待之、聞其音則洋洋而喜。今者吾樂之沛然充溢、亦復如是。

予以身作則、望爾效之。

基督在肉體上既備受苦難、則爾等亦應毅然抱此宏願。蓋肉體受苦、則與罪絕緣、
