于是他们拿石头要打他，耶稣却躲开，走出了圣殿。

主人就夸奖这不义的管家做事精明，因为今世之子应付自己的世代比光明之子更加精明。

从前你们是暗昧的，但如今在主里面是光明的，行事为人要像光明的子女—

你们都是光明之子，都是白昼之子；我们不属黑夜，也不属幽暗。

因为主曾这样吩咐我们：‘我已经立你作万邦之光，使你施行我的救恩，直到地极。’”外邦人听见这话很欢喜，赞美主的道，凡被指定得永生的人都信了。

兴起，发光！因为你的光已来到！耶和华的荣光发出照耀着你。

这人来是为了作见证，是为那光作见证，要使众人藉着他而信。

但既然我们属于白昼，就应当谨慎，把信和爱当作护心镜遮胸，把得救的盼望当作头盔戴上。

所以，耶稣不再公开在犹太人中走动，却离开那里，往靠近旷野的乡间去，到了一座城，名叫以法莲，就在那里和门徒住下来。

但实行真理的人就来接近光，为要显明他的行为是靠神而行的。”

于是，他们又要捉拿他，他却从他们手中逃脱了。耶稣又往约旦河的东边去，到了约翰起初施洗的地方，就住在那里。

人若说自己在光明中，却恨他的弟兄，他到如今还是在黑暗里。那爱弟兄的，就是住在光明中，他不会使人失足犯罪。惟独那恨弟兄的，是在黑暗里，也在黑暗里行走，不知道往哪里去，因为黑暗使他的眼睛瞎了。

于是他离开他们，出城到伯大尼去，在那里过夜。
