彼得说：“主啊，为什么我现在不能跟着你去？为了你，我舍命也愿意！”

彼得说：“主啊，为什么我现在就不能跟随你呢？为了你，我愿意舍弃自己的生命！”

彼得說：「主啊，我為甚麼現在不能跟你去？我願意為你捨命！」

彼得對他說：「主啊，為甚麼我現在不能跟你去？我願意為你捨命。」

彼得對他說：「主啊，為甚麼我現在不能跟你去？我願意為你捨命。」

彼得說：「主啊！為什麼我現在不能跟你去呢？就是為你死，我也願意！」

彼得說：“主啊，為甚麼我現在不能跟著你去？為了你，我捨命也願意！”

彼得對耶穌說：『主啊，為甚麼我現在不能跟着你啊？連我的性命、我都要替你放棄呢！』

彼得說：「主啊，為什麼我現在就不能跟隨你呢？為了你，我願意捨棄自己的生命！」

彼得曰、主、今何不能從爾乎、我欲為爾捐生、

彼得曰、主、胡為今不能從爾乎、我願為爾捐命、

彼得曰、主、胡為今不能從爾、我願為爾舍命、

伯鐸祿曰：『今亦曷為弗克相隨乎？雖為主致命、亦所甘心！』

Peter asked,“ Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”

“ Lord,” Peter asked,“ why can’t I follow you now? I will give my life for you.”

Peter said to him,“ Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”

“ But why can’t I come now, Lord?” he asked.“ I’m ready to die for you.”

“ Lord,” Peter asked,“ why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”

Peter* said to Him,“ Lord, why can I not follow You right now? I will lay down my life for You.”

Peter said to Him,“ Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake.”

Peter saith unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee even now? I will lay down my life for thee.

“ Lord,” Peter asked,“ why can’t I follow You now? I will lay down my life for You!”

Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.

Peter said to him,“ Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you!”

“ You will all fall away,” Jesus told them,“ for it is written:“‘ I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”Peter declared,“ Even if all fall away, I will not.”“ Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered,“ today— yes, tonight— before the rooster crows twice you yourself will disown me three times.”But Peter insisted emphatically,“ Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the others said the same. Then Jesus told them,“ This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written:“‘ I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”Peter replied,“ Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will.”“ Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered,“ this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.”But Peter declared,“ Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the other disciples said the same. “ Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat.But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”But he replied,“ Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death.”Jesus answered,“ I tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me.” (niv)

Then Paul answered,“ Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” (niv)

When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter,“ Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”“ Yes, Lord,” he said,“ you know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Feed my lambs.” (niv)

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me— the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. (niv)
