祂又到了加利利的迦拿，就是祂从前把水变成酒的地方。有一个大臣的儿子在迦百农患了病。

腓力去找拿但业，对他说：“我们遇见了摩西律法书和先知书记载的那位！祂是约瑟的儿子耶稣，从拿撒勒来的。”拿但业说：“拿撒勒还会出什么好东西？”腓力说：“你来看看吧！”耶稣看见拿但业走过来，就指着他说：“看啊，这是个真正的以色列人！他心里毫无诡诈。”拿但业问耶稣：“你怎么会认识我？”耶稣答道：“腓力还没有去找你之前，我就看见你在无花果树下了。”拿但业说：“老师，你是上帝的儿子！你是以色列的王！”耶稣说：“我说看见你在无花果树下，你就信我吗？将来你还要看见比这更大的事。我实实在在地告诉你们，你们会看见天门敞开，上帝的天使以人子为梯上上下下。”第三天，在加利利的迦拿有人举办婚宴，耶稣的母亲在那里。

多马回答说：“我的主，我的上帝！”

这是耶稣第一次行神迹，是在加利利的迦拿行的，彰显了祂的荣耀，门徒都信了祂。

再经义伯仑、利合、哈门、加拿直到西顿大城；

耶稣再往前走，又看见雅各和约翰两兄弟正和父亲西庇太一起在船上补渔网。耶稣呼召他们，他们马上离开渔船，辞别父亲，跟从了耶稣。

包括西庇太的两个儿子雅各和约翰。耶稣对西门说：“不要怕，从今以后，你将成为得人的渔夫。”
