At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath,

Instantly, the man was healed! He rolled up his sleeping mat and began walking! But this miracle happened on the Sabbath,

On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues,and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all.When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her,“ Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.”Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue leader said to the people,“ There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.”The Lord answered him,“ You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water?Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?” (niv)

Now if a boy can be circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me for healing a man’s whole body on the Sabbath? (niv)

and so the Jewish leaders said to the man who had been healed,“ It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat.”But he replied,“ The man who made me well said to me,‘ Pick up your mat and walk.’”So they asked him,“ Who is this fellow who told you to pick it up and walk?” (niv)

Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong.He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. (niv)

Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him,“ See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” (niv)

and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Looking for a reason to bring charges against Jesus, they asked him,“ Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”He said to them,“ If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out?How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”Then he said to the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other. (niv)

He took her by the hand and said to her,“ Talitha koum!”( which means“ Little girl, I say to you, get up!”).Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around( she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. (niv)

So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them. (niv)

Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. (niv)

Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed. (niv)

“ Go,” said Jesus,“ your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road. (niv)

Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath.Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand,“ Stand up in front of everyone.”Then Jesus asked them,“ Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.
