Mark 2:23-3:6
Jesus was going through the grain fields on a Sabbath, and his disciples began to pick some heads of wheat as they made their way.So the Pharisees said to him,“ Look, why are they doing what is against the law on the Sabbath?”He said to them,“ Have you never read what David did when he was in need and he and his companions were hungry–how he entered the house of God when Abiathar was high priest and ate the sacred bread, which is against the law for any but the priests to eat, and also gave it to his companions?”Then he said to them,“ The Sabbath was made for people, not people for the Sabbath. For this reason the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”Then Jesus entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand. They watched Jesus closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they could accuse him.So he said to the man who had the withered hand,“ Stand up among all these people.”Then he said to them,“ Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath, or evil, to save a life or destroy it?” But they were silent. After looking around at them in anger, grieved by the hardness of their hearts, he said to the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored. So the Pharisees went out immediately and began plotting with the Herodians, as to how they could assassinate him.

John 7:21-23
Jesus replied,“ I performed one miracle and you are all amazed. However, because Moses gave you the practice of circumcision( not that it came from Moses, but from the forefathers), you circumcise a male child on the Sabbath. But if a male child is circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses is not broken, why are you angry with me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?

Luke 13:10-17
Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath, and a woman was there who had been disabled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten herself up completely. When Jesus saw her, he called her to him and said,“ Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.”Then he placed his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.But the president of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the crowd,“ There are six days on which work should be done! So come and be healed on those days, and not on the Sabbath day.”Then the Lord answered him,“ You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from its stall, and lead it to water? Then shouldn’t this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen long years, be released from this imprisonment on the Sabbath day?”When he said this all his adversaries were humiliated, but the entire crowd was rejoicing at all the wonderful things he was doing.

Luke 6:1-11
Jesus was going through the grain fields on a Sabbath, and his disciples picked some heads of wheat, rubbed them in their hands, and ate them. But some of the Pharisees said,“ Why are you doing what is against the law on the Sabbath?”Jesus answered them,“ Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry–how he entered the house of God, took and ate the sacred bread, which is not lawful for any to eat but the priests alone, and gave it to his companions?”Then he said to them,“ The Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.”On another Sabbath, Jesus entered the synagogue and was teaching. Now a man was there whose right hand was withered. The experts in the law and the Pharisees watched Jesus closely to see if he would heal on the Sabbath, so that they could find a reason to accuse him.But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man who had the withered hand,“ Get up and stand here.” So he rose and stood there. Then Jesus said to them,“ I ask you, is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do evil, to save a life or to destroy it?”After looking around at them all, he said to the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” The man did so, and his hand was restored. But they were filled with mindless rage and began debating with one another what they would do to Jesus.

Matthew 12:1-14
At that time Jesus went through the grain fields on a Sabbath. His disciples were hungry, and they began to pick heads of wheat and eat them. But when the Pharisees saw this they said to him,“ Look, your disciples are doing what is against the law to do on the Sabbath.”He said to them,“ Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry–how he entered the house of God and they ate the sacred bread, which was against the law for him or his companions to eat, but only for the priests?Or have you not read in the law that the priests in the temple desecrate the Sabbath and yet are not guilty?I tell you that something greater than the temple is here.If you had known what this means:‘ I want mercy and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the innocent. For the Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.”Then Jesus left that place and entered their synagogue.A man was there who had a withered hand. And they asked Jesus,“ Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?” so that they could accuse him.He said to them,“ Would not any one of you, if he had one sheep that fell into a pit on the Sabbath, take hold of it and lift it out?How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”Then he said to the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out and it was restored, as healthy as the other. But the Pharisees went out and plotted against him, as to how they could assassinate him.
