They still did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight until they sent for the man’s parents.

They still did not believe that the man had been blind and now could see. So they sent for his parents.

The Jewish leaders still refused to believe the man had been blind and could now see, so they called in his parents.

耶稣在他们面前行了许多神迹，但是他们仍然不信他。这是要应验以赛亚先知所说的话：“主啊，我们所传的，有谁信呢？主的膀臂向谁显露呢？”他们不能相信，因为以赛亚又说：“神使他们瞎了眼，硬了心，免得他们眼睛看见，心里明白而回转过来；我就医好他们。”

于是罗得出去，告诉娶了他女儿的女婿说：“你们起来离开这地方；因为耶和华就要毁灭这城。”但是他的女婿以为他在开玩笑。

他的父母这样说，是因为怕犹太人，原来犹太人已经定好了，不论谁承认耶稣是基督，就要把那人赶出会堂。

经上说：“如果你们今天听从他的声音，就不要硬着心，像惹他发怒的时候一样。”那时，听了他的话而惹他发怒的是谁呢？不就是摩西从埃及领出来的那些人吗？四十年之久，神向谁发怒呢？不就是向那些犯了罪陈尸旷野的人吗？他又向谁起誓说，他们绝对不可以进入他的安息呢？不就是向那些不顺从的人吗？这样看来，他们不能进入安息，是因为不信的缘故。

耶和华啊！你的手高举，他们还是看不见。愿他们因看见你对子民的热心而惭愧；愿那为你的敌人预备的火吞灭他们。

亚伯拉罕说：‘如果他们不听从摩西和先知，就算有一个从死人中复活的人，他们也不会接受劝告。’”

你们彼此接受称赞，却不寻求从独一的神而来的称赞，怎么能信呢？

以下是约翰的见证：犹太人从耶路撒冷派祭司和利未人到约翰那里，问他：“你是谁？”

所以，我们要竭力进入那安息，免得有人随着那不顺从的样子就跌倒了。

谁会相信我们所传的？耶和华的膀臂向谁显露呢？
