問他們：「這是你們的兒子嗎？你們不是說他生來就瞎眼嗎？怎麼現在能看見了？」

問他們：“這是你們所說那生下來就瞎眼的兒子嗎？現在他怎麼又能看見呢？”

問他們說：『這是不是你們的兒子、你們所說生來就瞎眼的呢？那麼、他現在怎能看見呢？』

問他們：「這是你們的兒子嗎？你們說他生來是瞎眼的，現在怎麼能看見呢？」

問曰、此爾子、爾言生而瞽者乎、今何以得見耶、

爾言有子、生而瞽者、非此人乎、今如何得明、

問曰、此乃爾子、即爾所言生而瞽者乎、今如何能見、

乃召其父母而問曰：『此是爾子、即爾所謂胎瞽者乎？然則今何以能見？』

His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked,“ Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg?”Some claimed that he was. Others said,“ No, he only looks like him.” But he himself insisted,“ I am the man.” (niv)

they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. (niv)

But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say. (niv)
