Which we have heard and known, And our fathers have told us.We will not conceal them from their children, But we will tell the generation to come the praises of the Lord, And His power and His wondrous works that He has done.

“ I will tell you, listen to me; And what I have seen I will also declare;What wise people have told, And have not concealed from their fathers,

Who among all these does not know That the hand of the Lord has done this,In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind?Does the ear not put words to the test, As the palate tastes its food?Wisdom is with the aged, And with long life comes understanding.“ Wisdom and might are with Him; Advice and understanding belong to Him.Behold, He tears down, and it cannot be rebuilt; He imprisons a person, and there is no release.Behold, He restrains the waters, and they dry up; And He sends them out, and they inundate the earth.Strength and sound wisdom are with Him. One who goes astray and one who leads astray belong to Him.He makes advisers walk barefoot And makes fools of judges.He undoes the binding of kings, And ties a loincloth around their waist.He makes priests walk barefoot, And overthrows the secure ones.He deprives the trusted ones of speech, And takes away the discernment of the elders.He pours contempt on nobles, And loosens the belt of the strong.He reveals mysteries from the darkness, And brings the deep darkness into light.He makes the nations great, then destroys them; He enlarges the nations, then leads them away.He deprives the leaders of the earth’s people of intelligence And makes them wander in a pathless wasteland.They grope in darkness with no light, And He makes them stagger like a drunken person.

Who does great and unsearchable things, Wonders without number.He gives rain on the earth, And sends water on the fields,So that He sets on high those who are lowly, And those who mourn are lifted to safety.He frustrates the schemes of the shrewd, So that their hands cannot attain success.He captures the wise by their own cleverness, And the advice of the cunning is quickly thwarted.By day they meet with darkness, And grope at noon as in the night.But He saves from the sword of their mouth, And the poor from the hand of the strong.So the helpless has hope, And injustice has shut its mouth.

what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.

Behold this; we have investigated it, and so it is. Hear it, and know for yourself.”

‘ Who is this who conceals advice without knowledge?’ Therefore I have declared that which I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I do not know.‘ Please listen, and I will speak; I will ask You, and You instruct me.’I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear; But now my eye sees You;Therefore I retract, And I repent, sitting on dust and ashes.”
