Why do you hide your face and consider me your enemy?

Why do you turn your face away from me? Why do you think of me as your enemy?

Why do you hide your face and count me as your enemy?

Why do you turn away from me? Why do you treat me as your enemy?

Wherefore hidest thou thy face, And holdest me for thine enemy?

He has also kindled His anger against me And considered me as His enemy.

The Lord has become like an enemy. He has engulfed Israel; He has engulfed all its palaces, He has destroyed its strongholds And caused great mourning and grieving in the daughter of Judah.

How long, Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?

And I will wait for the Lord who is hiding His face from the house of Jacob; I will wait eagerly for Him.

Then He said,‘ I will hide My face from them, I will see what their end will be; For they are a perverse generation, Sons in whom there is no faithfulness.

Behold, He invents criticisms against me; He counts me as His enemy.

Why do You hide Your face And forget our affliction and oppression?

Lord, why do You reject my soul? Why do You hide Your face from me?

“ Oh that I were as in months gone by, As in the days when God watched over me;When His lamp shone over my head, And by His light I walked through darkness;

Samuel said,“ But why ask me, since the Lord has abandoned you and has become your enemy?

I will remember my song in the night; I will meditate with my heart, And my spirit ponders:Will the Lord reject forever? And will He never be favorable again?Has His favor ceased forever? Has His promise come to an end forever?Has God forgotten to be gracious, Or has He in anger withdrawn His compassion? Selah

And yet do not regard that person as an enemy, but admonish that one as a brother or sister.

I will say to God,‘ Do not condemn me; Let me know why You contend with me.

His anger has torn me and hunted me down, He has gnashed at me with His teeth; My enemy glares at me.

Oh that I had one to hear me! Here is my signature; Let the Almighty answer me! And the indictment which my adversary has written,

Why do You stand far away, Lord? Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble?

You have become cruel to me; With the strength of Your hand You persecute me.
