But I desire to speak to the Almighty and to argue my case with God.

In fact, I long to speak to the Mighty One. I want to argue my case with God.

But I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to argue my case with God.

As for me, I would speak directly to the Almighty. I want to argue my case with God himself.

Yet I prefer to speak to the Almighty and argue my case before God.

But I would speak to the Almighty, And I desire to reason with God.

“ Surely I would speak to the Almighty. I desire to reason with God.

“ Present your case,” the Lord says.“ Bring forward your evidence,” The King of Jacob says.

Then call and I will answer; Or let me speak, then reply to me.

If one wished to dispute with Him, He could not answer Him once in a thousand times.

“ Come now, and let us debate your case,” Says the Lord,“ Though your sins are as scarlet, They shall become as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be like wool.If you are willing and obedient, You will eat the best of the land;But if you refuse and rebel, You will be devoured by the sword.” For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

Oh that I had one to hear me! Here is my signature; Let the Almighty answer me! And the indictment which my adversary has written,

Oh that I knew how to find Him, That I might come to His home!I would present my case before Him And fill my mouth with arguments.I would learn the words which He would answer, And perceive what He would tell me.Would He contend with me by the greatness of His power? No, surely He would pay attention to me.There the upright would argue with Him; And I would be free of my Judge forever.

Listen, you mountains, to the indictment by the Lord, And you enduring foundations of the earth, Because the Lord has a case against His people; And He will dispute with Israel.

How then can I answer Him, And choose my words before Him?For though I were right, I could not answer; I would have to implore the mercy of my Judge.

Righteous are You, Lord, when I plead my case with You; Nevertheless I would discuss matters of justice with You: Why has the way of the wicked prospered? Why are all those who deal in treachery at ease?You have planted them, they have also taken root; They grow, they have also produced fruit. You are near to their lips But far from their mind.

But if only God would speak, And open His lips against you,

Let Him remove His rod from me, And let not the dread of Him terrify me.Then I would speak and not fear Him; But I am not like that in myself.

Though He slay me, I will hope in Him. Nevertheless I will argue my ways before Him.
