“ He has alienated my family from me; my acquaintances are completely estranged from me.

“ God has caused my family to desert me. The people I used to know are now strangers to me.

“ He has put my brothers far from me, and those who knew me are wholly estranged from me.

My friends and companions avoid me because of my wounds; my neighbors stay far away. (niv)

But this has all taken place that the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples deserted him and fled. (niv)

At my first defense, no one came to my support, but everyone deserted me. May it not be held against them. (niv)
