遂大聲號哭、至於力盡乃已。

二人往伯利恆、既至、闔城聳動、曰、此非拿阿米乎。曰、毋稱我拿阿米、乃稱我馬喇、蓋至能者困苦我也。我富足而出、耶和華使我匱乏而歸、至能之耶和華既責我害我、曷稱我拿阿米哉。

以塵埃蒙首、哀哭呼曰、大邑以厥珍寶、使操舟於海者富裕、頃刻間、已至貧乏、嗚呼哀哉、

言既竟、王之眾子至、大聲而哭、王與臣僕、咸哭甚哀。

昔彼顯宦、皜皜無比、若雪之白、若乳之潔、色若珊瑚、體若青玉兮。今其容變黑、形消骨立、有若枯木、至彼市廛、無人識之兮。

見棄於鄰里、不念於友朋。

耶和華之使、以斯言告以色列族、民大聲號泣。

以掃聞言、大聲痛哭、曰、請父亦為我祝嘏、

使者至其庇亞、掃羅所居之邑、以此告民、民舉聲號哭。
