雖峻極於天、昂頭雲外、

尊榮雖高至天、昂首及雲、

Though the pride of the godless person reaches to the heavens and his head touches the clouds,

Their pride might reach all the way up to the heavens. Their heads might touch the clouds.

Though his height mount up to the heavens, and his head reach to the clouds,

You said in your heart,“ I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon.I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” (niv)

The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rocks and make your home on the heights, you who say to yourself,‘ Who can bring me down to the ground?’Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down,” declares the Lord. Then they said,“ Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” (niv)

Your Majesty, you are that tree! You have become great and strong; your greatness has grown until it reaches the sky, and your dominion extends to distant parts of the earth. (niv)

And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades. For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day. (niv)
