You haven’t offered advice to those who aren’t wise! In fact, you haven’t understood anything at all!

How you have counseled him who has no wisdom, and plentifully declared sound knowledge!

What advice you have given to one without wisdom! What helpful insight you have abundantly provided!

How have you counseled one who has no wisdom? And how have you declared sound advice to many?

How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom, And plentifully declared sound knowledge!

How you have counseled the unwise and thoroughly explained the path to success!

How hast thou counselled[ him that hath] no wisdom? and[ how] hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?

How you have advised the one without wisdom, and abundantly revealed your insight!

“ Behold, I waited for your words, and I listened for your reasoning, while you searched out what to say.Yes, I gave you my full attention, but there was no one who convinced Job, or who answered his words, among you.Beware lest you say,‘ We have found wisdom. God may refute him, not man;’

Isn’t it that I have no help in me, That wisdom is driven quite from me?

My words will utter the uprightness of my heart. That which my lips know they will speak sincerely.

If not, listen to me. Hold your peace, and I will teach you wisdom.”

“ Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?

But as for you all, come back. I will not find a wise man among you.

Have you heard the secret counsel of God? Do you limit wisdom to yourself?What do you know that we don’t know? What do you understand which is not in us?With us are both the gray- headed and the very aged men, much elder than your father.

But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Yes, who doesn’t know such things as these?

for I didn’t shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.

Hear, for I will speak excellent things. The opening of my lips is for right things.For my mouth speaks truth. Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.All the words of my mouth are in righteousness. There is nothing crooked or perverse in them.They are all plain to him who understands, right to those who find knowledge.

My mouth will tell about your righteousness, and of your salvation all day, though I don’t know its full measure.I will come with the mighty acts of the Lord Yahweh. I will make mention of your righteousness, even of yours alone.God, you have taught me from my youth. Until now, I have declared your wondrous works.Yes, even when I am old and gray- haired, God, don’t forsake me, until I have declared your strength to the next generation, your might to everyone who is to come.

Hear this, all you peoples. Listen, all you inhabitants of the world,both low and high, rich and poor together.My mouth will speak words of wisdom. My heart will utter understanding.I will incline my ear to a proverb. I will solve my riddle on the harp.

Oh that you would be completely silent! Then you would be wise.
