其實你們也曾親眼目睹，為何還講這些虛妄之言？

你們都親自見過，你們為甚麼成了這麼虛妄呢？

看哪、你們自己也都見過，為甚麼你們全變為虛妄呢？

爾皆見此、何故成為虛妄、

爾曹咸知斯理、何故出此迂談。

爾曹既知之、何故出此虛誕之語、

You have all seen this yourselves. Why then this meaningless talk?

You have seen those things yourselves. So why do you continue your useless talk?

Behold, all of you have seen it yourselves; why then have you become altogether vain?

But you have seen all this, yet you say all these useless things to me.

All of you have seen this for yourselves, why do you keep up this empty talk?

Behold, all of you have seen it; Why then do you talk of nothing?

Surely all of you have seen it; Why then do you behave with complete nonsense?

Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; Why then are ye become altogether vain?

All of you have seen this for yourselves, why do you keep up this empty talk?

Behold, all ye yourselves have seen[ it]; why then are ye thus altogether vain?

If you yourselves have all seen this, Why in the world do you continue this meaningless talk?

Behold, all of you have seen it yourselves; why then have you become altogether vain?

Bear with me while I speak, and after I have spoken, mock on. (niv)

So I reflected on all this and concluded that the righteous and the wise and what they do are in God’s hands, but no one knows whether love or hate awaits them.All share a common destiny— the righteous and the wicked, the good and the bad, the clean and the unclean, those who offer sacrifices and those who do not. As it is with the good, so with the sinful; as it is with those who take oaths, so with those who are afraid to take them.This is the evil in everything that happens under the sun: The same destiny overtakes all. The hearts of people, moreover, are full of evil and there is madness in their hearts while they live, and afterward they join the dead. (niv)

“ How long will you torment me and crush me with words?Ten times now you have reproached me; shamelessly you attack me. (niv)

Will your long-winded speeches never end? What ails you that you keep on arguing? (niv)

There is something else meaningless that occurs on earth: the righteous who get what the wicked deserve, and the wicked who get what the righteous deserve. This too, I say, is meaningless. (niv)

How painful are honest words! But what do your arguments prove?Do you mean to correct what I say, and treat my desperate words as wind?You would even cast lots for the fatherless and barter away your friend.“ But now be so kind as to look at me. Would I lie to your face?Relent, do not be unjust; reconsider, for my integrity is at stake. (niv)

You, however, smear me with lies; you are worthless physicians, all of you!If only you would be altogether silent! For you, that would be wisdom.Hear now my argument; listen to the pleas of my lips.Will you speak wickedly on God’s behalf? Will you speak deceitfully for him?Will you show him partiality? Will you argue the case for God?Would it turn out well if he examined you? Could you deceive him as you might deceive a mortal? (niv)

You say,‘ Where now is the house of the great, the tents where the wicked lived?’Have you never questioned those who travel? Have you paid no regard to their accounts—that the wicked are spared from the day of calamity, that they are delivered from the day of wrath? (niv)

“ How you have helped the powerless! How you have saved the arm that is feeble!What advice you have offered to one without wisdom! And what great insight you have displayed!Who has helped you utter these words? And whose spirit spoke from your mouth? (niv)

Surely mockers surround me; my eyes must dwell on their hostility. (niv)
