“我若以黄金为指望，对精金说：你是我的倚靠；

“我若仰仗金子，依靠纯金，

我若以黄金为我所信靠的，又对精金说：‘你是我所靠赖的’；

我若以黃金為指望，對精金說：你是我的倚靠；

“ If I have put my trust in gold or said to pure gold,‘ You are my security,’

“ Suppose I’ve put my trust in gold. I’ve said to pure gold,‘ You make me feel secure.’

“ If I have made gold my trust or called fine gold my confidence,

“ Have I put my trust in money or felt secure because of my gold?

If I placed my confidence in gold or called fine gold my trust,

“ If I have put my confidence in gold, And called fine gold my trust,

“ If I have made gold my hope, Or said to fine gold,‘ You are my confidence’;

If I have made gold my hope, And have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence;

If I placed my confidence in gold or called fine gold my trust,

If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold,[ Thou art] my confidence;

“ If I have put my confidence in gold or said to pure gold,‘ You are my security!’

“ If I have made gold my hope, and have said to the fine gold,‘ You are my confidence;’

Those who trust in their riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf. (niv)

The wealth of the rich is their fortified city, but poverty is the ruin of the poor. (niv)

those who trust in their wealth and boast of their great riches?No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them— (niv)

“ Here now is the man who did not make God his stronghold but trusted in his great wealth and grew strong by destroying others!” (niv)

Then he said to them,“ Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” (niv)

Jacob heard that Laban’s sons were saying,“ Jacob has taken everything our father owned and has gained all this wealth from what belonged to our father.” (niv)

Do not trust in extortion or put vain hope in stolen goods; though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them. (niv)

Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say,‘ Who is the Lord?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. (niv)

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. (niv)

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. (niv)

The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again,“ Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” (niv)

for they will take nothing with them when they die, their splendor will not descend with them. (niv)

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. (niv)

Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down,and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied,then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. (niv)
