天主所賜之生氣、如定意使歸於己、

If it were his intention and he withdrew his spirit and breath,

If he really wanted to, he could hold back his spirit and breath.

If he should set his heart to it and gather to himself his spirit and his breath,

If God were to take back his spirit and withdraw his breath,

If he put his mind to it and withdrew the spirit and breath he gave,

If He were to determine to do so, If He were to gather His spirit and His breath to Himself,

If He should set His heart on it, If He should gather to Himself His Spirit and His breath,

If he set his heart upon himself, If he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath;

If He put His mind to it and withdrew the spirit and breath He gave,

If he set his heart upon man,[ if] he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath;

If God were to set his heart on it, and gather in his spirit and his breath,

If he set his heart on himself, if he gathered to himself his spirit and his breath,

When you hide your face, they are terrified; when you take away their breath, they die and return to the dust. (niv)

His wisdom is profound, his power is vast. Who has resisted him and come out unscathed? (niv)

“ What is mankind that you make so much of them, that you give them so much attention, (niv)

They will be herded together like prisoners bound in a dungeon; they will be shut up in prison and be punished after many days. (niv)
