Indeed, God does not listen to empty cries, and the Almighty does not take note of it—

Indeed, God does not listen to their empty plea; the Almighty pays no attention to it.

In fact, God doesn’t listen to their empty cries. The Mighty One doesn’t pay any attention to them.

Surely God does not hear an empty cry, nor does the Almighty regard it.

But it is wrong to say God doesn’t listen, to say the Almighty isn’t concerned.

The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

“ Therefore, this is what the LORD says: I am about to bring on them disaster that they cannot escape. They will cry out to me, but I will not hear them.

When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will refuse to look at you; even if you offer countless prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are covered with blood.

You ask and don’t receive because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Better to approach in obedience than to offer the sacrifice as fools do, for they ignorantly do wrong.Do not be hasty to speak, and do not be impulsive to make a speech before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.Just as dreams accompany much labor, so also a fool’s voice comes with many words.

The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

When you pray, don’t babble like the Gentiles, since they imagine they’ll be heard for their many words.

Even if you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them; I will have no regard for your fellowship offerings of fattened cattle.

For what hope does the godless person have when he is cut off, when God takes away his life?Will God hear his cry when distress comes on him?

Receive instruction from his mouth, and place his sayings in your heart.If you return to the Almighty, you will be renewed. If you banish injustice from your tentand consign your gold to the dust, the gold of Ophir to the stones in the wadis,the Almighty will be your gold and your finest silver.Then you will delight in the Almighty and lift up your face to God.You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows.
