If someone wishes to contend with him, he cannot answer him one time in a thousand.

若愿意与他争辩，千中之一也不能回答。

人若想要与他争辩，千次中也不能回答一次。

人若想要与他争辩，千次中也不能回答一次。

人若想与祂辩驳，千次也不能胜一次。

人若愿意与他辩论，连千分之一也答不出来。

若願意與他爭辯，千中之一也不能回答。

人若想要與他爭辯，千次中也不能回答一次。

人若想與祂辯駁，千次也不能勝一次。

人若願意與他辯論，連千分之一也答不出來。

人若願意同他辯論，千項也不能回答他一項啊。

若欲與辯、千難答一、

如上帝勘問、萬中不能答一、

若欲與天主爭辯、萬中不能答一、不能答一或作必不答一

Though they wished to dispute with him, they could not answer him one time out of a thousand.

They might wish to argue with him. But they couldn’t answer him even once in a thousand times.

If one wished to contend with him, one could not answer him once in a thousand times.

If someone wanted to take God to court, would it be possible to answer him even once in a thousand times?

If one wanted to take him to court, he could not answer God once in a thousand times.

If one wished to dispute with Him, He could not answer Him once in a thousand times.

If one wished to contend with Him, He could not answer Him one time out of a thousand.

If he be pleased to contend with him, He cannot answer him one of a thousand.

If one wanted to take Him to court, he could not answer God once in a thousand times.

If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.

If he is pleased to contend with him, he can’t answer him one time in a thousand.

I will say to God,‘ Do not condemn me; tell me why you are contending with me.’

“ Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let the person who accuses God give him an answer!”

If we say we do not bear the guilt of sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.

If God were to set his heart on it, and gather in his spirit and his breath,all flesh would perish together and human beings would return to dust.

“ If only I had someone to hear me! Here is my signature– let the Almighty answer me! If only I had an indictment that my accuser had written.Surely I would wear it proudly on my shoulder, I would bind it on me like a crown;I would give him an accounting of my steps; like a prince I would approach him.

For this is what the high and exalted one says, the one who rules forever, whose name is holy:“ I dwell in an exalted and holy place, but also with the discouraged and humiliated, in order to cheer up the humiliated and to encourage the discouraged.For I will not be hostile forever or perpetually angry, for then man’s spirit would grow faint before me, the life-giving breath I created.

Why do you contend against him, that he does not answer all a person’s words?

Although I am innocent, my mouth would condemn me; although I am blameless, it would declare me perverse.

For he is not a human being like I am, that I might answer him, that we might come together in judgment.Nor is there an arbiter between us, who might lay his hand on us both,

that if our conscience condemns us, that God is greater than our conscience and knows all things.

But who indeed are you– a mere human being– to talk back to God? Does what is molded say to the molder,“ Why have you made me like this?”

Who can know all his errors? Please do not punish me for sins I am unaware of.

O that I knew where I might find him, that I could come to his place of residence!I would lay out my case before him and fill my mouth with arguments.I would know with what words he would answer me, and understand what he would say to me.Would he contend with me with great power? No, he would only pay attention to me.There an upright person could present his case before him, and I would be delivered forever from my judge.

For innumerable dangers surround me. My sins overtake me so I am unable to see; they outnumber the hairs of my head so my strength fails me.
