如果你們轉離耶和華，與你們中間剩下的這些國家的餘民聯絡，和他們通婚，互相來往，你們就必知道，耶和華你們的神必不再把這些國家從你們面前趕出去；他們必要成為你們的網羅和陷阱，肋下的鞭和眼中的刺，直到你們從耶和華你們的神賜給你們的這美地上滅亡為止。

次子基利押，是作過迦密人拿八的妻子亞比該所生的。三子押沙龍，是基述王達買的女兒瑪迦所生的。

耶和華的使者從吉甲上到波金來，說：“我曾經把你們從埃及領上來，帶你們到我向你們列祖起誓應許的地方；我曾說過：‘我永不廢棄我與你們所立的約；你們不可與這地的居民立約，要拆毀他們的祭壇。’你們竟沒有聽從我的話；你們作的是甚麼呢？因此我又說：‘我必不把他們從你們面前趕走，他們要作你們的敵人（按照《馬索拉文本》，“敵人”作“邊旁”，意思不明確，或譯﹕“網羅”﹔現參照各古譯本翻譯），他們的神要作你們的網羅。’”
