These are the nations: the Philistines( those living under the five Philistine rulers), all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and the Hivites living in the mountains of Lebanon from Mount Baal hermon to Lebo hamath.

A similar thing happened when the Caphtorites from Crete invaded and destroyed the Avvites, who had lived in villages in the area of Gaza.)

The five Philistine rulers watched all this and then returned to Ekron that same day.The five gold tumors sent by the Philistines as a guilt offering to the Lord were gifts from the rulers of Ashdod, Gaza, Ashkelon, Gath, and Ekron.

Gaza and Ashkelon will be abandoned, Ashdod and Ekron torn down.And what sorrow awaits you Philistines who live along the coast and in the land of Canaan, for this judgment is against you, too! The Lord will destroy you until not one of you is left.

Canaan’s oldest son was Sidon, the ancestor of the Sidonians. Canaan was also the ancestor of the Hittites,Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites,Hivites, Arkites, Sinites,Arvadites, Zemarites, and Hamathites. The Canaanite clans eventually spread out,and the territory of Canaan extended from Sidon in the north to Gerar and Gaza in the south, and east as far as Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, near Lasha.
