约瑟的子孙对约书亚说：“耶和华到如今既然赐福与我们，我们也族大人多，你为什么仅将一阄一段之地分给我们为业呢？”

约瑟的子孙对约书亚说：“耶和华到如今这样赐福给我，我百姓众多，你为什么只给我抽一签，分一份的土地为业呢？”

约瑟的子孙对约书亚说：“耶和华赐福给我们，使我们人口众多，为什么你只让我们抽一支签，分一份产业呢？”

约瑟的子孙对约书亚说：“耶和华这样赐福我们，我们族大人多，你为什么只给我们抽一份签，分一份地作产业呢？”

約瑟的子孫對約書亞說：「耶和華到如今既然賜福與我們，我們也族大人多，你為甚麼僅將一鬮一段之地分給我們為業呢？」

約瑟的子孫告訴約書亞說：『永恆主既然這樣賜福與我們，我們族民又多，你為甚麼只把一鬮一分之地分給我們為產業呢？』

約瑟裔謂約書亞曰、耶和華既錫嘏於我、使為大族、何僅予我一區為業、

約瑟子孫告約書亞曰、我蒙耶和華錫嘏、成為大族、何給我一區之地為業。

約瑟子孫謂約書亞曰、主至今賜福於我、使我人多族大、何僅予我一鬮之地為業、

The people of Joseph said to Joshua,“ Why have you given us only one allotment and one portion for an inheritance? We are a numerous people, and the Lord has blessed us abundantly.”

The people in the family line of Joseph spoke to Joshua. They said,“ Why have you given us only one share of the land to have as our own? There are large numbers of us. The Lord has blessed us greatly.”

Then the people of Joseph spoke to Joshua, saying,“ Why have you given me but one lot and one portion as an inheritance, although I am a numerous people, since all along the Lord has blessed me?”

The descendants of Joseph came to Joshua and asked,“ Why have you given us only one portion of land as our homeland when the Lord has blessed us with so many people?”

Joseph’s descendants said to Joshua,“ Why did you give us only one tribal allotment as an inheritance? We have many people, because the LORD has been blessing us greatly.”

Then the sons of Joseph spoke to Joshua, saying,“ Why have you given me only one lot and one portion as an inheritance, though I am a numerous people whom the Lord has blessed up to this point?”

Then the children of Joseph spoke to Joshua, saying,“ Why have you given us only one lot and one share to inherit, since we are a great people, inasmuch as the Lord has blessed us until now?”

And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one part for an inheritance, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as hitherto Jehovah hath blessed me?

Joseph’s descendants said to Joshua,“ Why did you give us only one tribal allotment as an inheritance? We have many people, because the Lord has been blessing us greatly.”

And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me[ but] one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I[ am] a great people, forasmuch as the LORD hath blessed me hitherto?

The descendants of Joseph said to Joshua,“ Why have you assigned us only one tribal allotment? After all, we have many people, for until now the LORD has enabled us to increase in number.”

The children of Joseph spoke to Joshua, saying,“ Why have you given me just one lot and one part for an inheritance, since we are a numerous people, because Yahweh has blessed us so far?”

And to you I give one more ridge of land than to your brothers, the ridge I took from the Amorites with my sword and my bow.” (niv)

But his father refused and said,“ I know, my son, I know. He too will become a people, and he too will become great. Nevertheless, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his descendants will become a group of nations.” (niv)

These were the clans of Manasseh; those numbered were 52,700.These were the descendants of Ephraim by their clans: through Shuthelah, the Shuthelahite clan; through Beker, the Bekerite clan; through Tahan, the Tahanite clan.These were the descendants of Shuthelah: through Eran, the Eranite clan.These were the clans of Ephraim; those numbered were 32,500. These were the descendants of Joseph by their clans. (niv)

“ Joseph is a fruitful vine, a fruitful vine near a spring, whose branches climb over a wall.With bitterness archers attacked him; they shot at him with hostility.But his bow remained steady, his strong arms stayed limber, because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,because of your father’s God, who helps you, because of the Almighty, who blesses you with blessings of the skies above, blessings of the deep springs below, blessings of the breast and womb.Your father’s blessings are greater than the blessings of the ancient mountains, than the bounty of the age-old hills. Let all these rest on the head of Joseph, on the brow of the prince among his brothers. (niv)

About Joseph he said:“ May the Lord bless his land with the precious dew from heaven above and with the deep waters that lie below;with the best the sun brings forth and the finest the moon can yield;with the choicest gifts of the ancient mountains and the fruitfulness of the everlasting hills;with the best gifts of the earth and its fullness and the favor of him who dwelt in the burning bush. Let all these rest on the head of Joseph, on the brow of the prince among his brothers.In majesty he is like a firstborn bull; his horns are the horns of a wild ox. With them he will gore the nations, even those at the ends of the earth. Such are the ten thousands of Ephraim; such are the thousands of Manasseh.” (niv)
