耶穌對他說：「『你要以全心、全靈、全意愛主——你的神』，

我們也知道，神使萬事相輔相成，是為了愛神之人的益處，就是那些按照他的心意蒙召之人的益處。

耶穌對他說：「撒旦，退去！因為經上記著：『要敬拜主——你的神，唯獨事奉他。』」

忍受試煉的人是蒙福的；因為他經過考驗以後，就要得到生命的冠冕，就是主應許給那些愛他之人的。

是的，也正是為此，你們應當盡量地殷勤，在信仰上加美德；在美德上加知識；在知識上加自制；在自制上加忍耐；在忍耐上加敬神；在敬神上加弟兄之情；在弟兄之情上加愛；因為你們如果有了這些，並且不斷增多這些，它們就會使你們在真正認識我們主耶穌基督的事上，不會成為懶惰的或不結果子的人；就是說，沒有具備這些的就是瞎眼的，他只看得見眼前的，忘記自己過去的罪孽已經得了潔淨。所以弟兄們，你們當更加努力地確定你們所蒙的召喚和揀選。要知道，如果你們如此行，就絕不會跌倒；

一個人如果要服事我，就當跟從我；我在哪裡，我的僕人也將要在哪裡。如果有人服事我，父將尊重他。

巴拿巴到了，看見神的恩典就感到歡喜，鼓勵大家要立定心志，繼續靠主，

我親愛的弟兄們，請聽！神難道不是揀選了世上的那些貧窮人，使他們在信仰上富有，並且做他國度的繼承人嗎？這國度是他應許給愛他之人的。

你用你的訓誡吩咐了我們，為要我們竭力遵守。但願我的道路被你堅立，好使我遵守你的律例。這樣，我注目你一切誡命時，就不致蒙羞；

你們為什麼把錢花在非食物的東西上呢？為什麼把自己的辛苦所得花在不能使人飽足的東西上呢？你們要留心聽我的話，要吃美物，讓自己的心靈得享肥甘！

「一個人不能服事兩個主人。他不是厭惡這個、喜愛那個，就是忠於這個、輕視那個。你們不能既服事神，又服事財富。

「你們如果愛我，就會遵守我的命令。

你們要謹慎，免得有人虧缺了神的恩典；免得有苦毒的根長起來攪擾你們，使許多人因此被汙穢了；

撒母耳對民眾說：「不要害怕。你們雖然做了這一切惡事，但不要偏離耶和華不跟隨他，而要以全心服事耶和華；

只是你們要敬畏耶和華，誠實全心地服事他——你們看，他為你們做了何等大的事！

要知道，我所歸屬、所事奉的神，他的一位天使昨天晚上站在我身邊，

撒母耳就對以色列全家宣告說：「你們如果全心回轉歸向耶和華，就要把外邦的神明和亞斯她錄從你們中間除掉，立定心志歸向耶和華，唯獨服事他。這樣他就會解救你們脫離非利士人的手。」

使我們從敵人的手中被救出，

我們渴望你們每個人都顯出同樣的殷勤，使你們對所盼望的有完全的確信，一直到底；這樣，你們就不會變得懈怠，反而會效法那些藉著信仰和耐心去繼承各樣應許的人。

事實上，神——就是我在他兒子的福音工作上用心靈所事奉的那一位，可以為我見證：我怎樣不住地提到你們，

愛，不要虛假；要厭棄惡、持守善；

大家吃完早飯後，耶穌就問西門彼得：「約翰的兒子西門，你愛我勝過這些嗎？」彼得說：「是的，主啊！你知道我喜愛你。」耶穌對他說：「餵養我的小羊。」耶穌第二次又問他：「約翰的兒子西門，你愛我嗎？」彼得回答說：「是的，主啊！你知道我喜愛你。」耶穌對他說：「牧養我的羊。」耶穌第三次問他：「約翰的兒子西門，你喜愛我嗎？」彼得感到憂傷，因為耶穌第三次是對他說：「你喜愛我嗎？」彼得說：「主啊，你知道一切，你知道我喜愛你。」耶穌對他說：「餵養我的羊。

當謹守你的心，勝過保守一切，因為生命的泉源由心而出。

那領受我命令並遵守的人，就是愛我的。愛我的會蒙我父所愛，我也會愛他，並且會向他顯明我自己。」不是加略人的那個猶大問耶穌：「主啊，怎麼會這樣呢？你為什麼要向我們顯明自己，而不向世人顯明呢？」耶穌回答說：「如果有人愛我，他就會遵守我的話語，我父也會愛他，而且我們將要來到他那裡，並且在他那裡安置我們的住處。

那些持守公正、時時行公義的人，是蒙福的！
