know for certain that the LORD your God will not continue to drive these nations out before you. They will become a snare and a trap for you, a sharp stick for your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you disappear from this good land the LORD your God has given you.

毫无疑问，你们的上帝耶和华必不再为你们赶走他们。相反，他们还要成为设在你们当中的圈套和陷阱，你们的肉中刺、眼中钉，直到你们在你们的上帝耶和华所赐给你们的这块美好的土地上灭亡。

則當確知爾上帝耶和華、必不復逐斯民於爾目前、彼必於爾為網羅、為機檻、脇下之鞭、目中之刺、迨爾滅亡、於爾上帝耶和華所賜之美地、

則當知爾上帝耶和華必不再驅斯民於爾前、斯民必陷爾於坎阱、為爾目中之刺、肘下之棘、迨爾滅亡、在爾上帝耶和華所賜之腴壤。

則當知主爾之天主、必不復逐此諸族之民於爾前、斯民必為陷爾之網羅、必為陷爾之網羅或作必陷爾於網羅為鞭於爾脇、為剌於爾目、直至爾曹滅亡、於主爾天主所賜爾之美地、

then you may be sure that the Lord your God will no longer drive out these nations before you. Instead, they will become snares and traps for you, whips on your backs and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land, which the Lord your God has given you.

Then you can be sure of what the Lord your God will do. He won’t drive out those nations to make room for you anymore. Instead, they will become traps and snares for you. They will be like whips on your backs. They will be like thorns in your eyes. All that will continue until you are destroyed. It will continue until you are removed from this good land. It’s the land the Lord your God has given you.

know for certain that the Lord your God will no longer drive out these nations before you, but they shall be a snare and a trap for you, a whip on your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good ground that the Lord your God has given you.

then know for certain that the Lord your God will no longer drive them out of your land. Instead, they will be a snare and a trap to you, a whip for your backs and thorny brambles in your eyes, and you will vanish from this good land the Lord your God has given you.

You must destroy all the peoples the LORD your God is delivering over to you and not look on them with pity. Do not worship their gods, for that will be a snare to you.

They must not remain in your land, or else they will make you sin against me. If you serve their gods, it will be a snare for you.”

But if you don’t drive out the inhabitants of the land before you, those you allow to remain will become barbs for your eyes and thorns for your sides; they will harass you in the land where you will live.

Just as the LORD was glad to cause you to prosper and to multiply you, so he will also be glad to cause you to perish and to destroy you. You will be ripped out of the land you are entering to possess.Then the LORD will scatter you among all peoples from one end of the earth to the other, and there you will worship other gods, of wood and stone, which neither you nor your ancestors have known.You will find no peace among those nations, and there will be no resting place for the sole of your foot. There the LORD will give you a trembling heart, failing eyes, and a despondent spirit.Your life will hang in doubt before you. You will be in dread night and day, never certain of survival.In the morning you will say,‘ If only it were evening!’ and in the evening you will say,‘ If only it were morning!’— because of the dread you will have in your heart and because of what you will see.The LORD will take you back in ships to Egypt by a route that I said you would never see again. There you will sell yourselves to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you.”

When Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart away to follow other gods. He was not wholeheartedly devoted to the LORD his God, as his father David had been.

but mingled with the nations and adopted their ways.They served their idols, which became a snare to them.They sacrificed their sons and daughters to demons.They shed innocent blood— the blood of their sons and daughters whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; so the land became polluted with blood.They defiled themselves by their actions and prostituted themselves by their deeds.

Then all the people, from the youngest to the oldest, and the commanders of the army, left and went to Egypt, for they were afraid of the Chaldeans.

The LORD uprooted them from their land in his anger, rage, and intense wrath, and threw them into another land where they are today.’

Then they may come to their senses and escape the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

I tell you today that you will certainly perish and will not prolong your days in the land you are entering to possess across the Jordan.

You are not to make a covenant with the inhabitants of this land. You are to tear down their altars. But you have not obeyed me. What have you done?Therefore, I now say: I will not drive out these people before you. They will be thorns in your sides, and their gods will be a trap for you.”

I will reduce your cities to ruins and devastate your sanctuaries. I will not smell the pleasing aroma of your sacrifices.I also will devastate the land, so that your enemies who come to live there will be appalled by it.But I will scatter you among the nations, and I will draw a sword to chase after you. So your land will become desolate, and your cities will become ruins.“ Then the land will make up for its Sabbath years during the time it lies desolate, while you are in the land of your enemies. At that time the land will rest and make up for its Sabbaths.As long as it lies desolate, it will have the rest it did not have during your Sabbaths when you lived there.

Let their table set before them be a snare, and let it be a trap for their allies.

The king of Babylon put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah went into exile from its land.

I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that you will quickly perish from the land you are about to cross the Jordan to possess. You will not live long there, but you will certainly be destroyed.

The Israelites persisted in all the sins that Jeroboam committed and did not turn away from them.Finally, the LORD removed Israel from his presence just as he had declared through all his servants the prophets. So Israel has been exiled to Assyria from their homeland to this very day.

They will be killed by the sword and be led captive into all the nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
