“ The Lord has driven out before you great and powerful nations; to this day no one has been able to withstand you.

No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. I will be with you, just as I was with Moses. I will not leave you or abandon you.

I will drive them out little by little ahead of you until you have become numerous and take possession of the land.

The LORD your God will force them back on your account and drive them out before you so that you can take possession of their land, as the LORD your God promised you.
