Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked,“ Are you for us or for our enemies?”

And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?

瑪挪亞起、隨婦至其人前、曰、昔與婦言者、果爾乎、曰、是也、

雅各獨留、有一人與之角力、至於黎明、其人見己不勝、則擊雅各之股、雅各與角力時、其股受傷、或作其股脫於穴其人曰、天將明矣、容我去、曰、爾不為我祝福、必不容爾去、曰、爾何名、曰、雅各、曰、今而後裔不復名雅各、乃名以色列、蓋爾與神與人較量、無不得勝、雅各問曰、請以爾名告我、曰、何問我名、遂在彼為雅各祝福、雅各名其地曰毘努伊勒、毘努伊勒譯即覿神之義言雖與神覿面、而生命尚存、

我於夜觀異象、見有人乘紅馬、立於谷谷或作窪地之岡拈樹間、其後有紅馬紫紫或作黃馬白馬、

耶穌升時、眾徒注目望天、倏有二人、衣白衣立於其側、

主命天使、天使遂以刀入鞘、

大衛舉目見主之使者、立於天地間、拔刀於手、指耶路撒冷、遂與諸長老皆衣麻衣、面伏於地、大衛禱於天主曰、命核民數者我也、我有罪、我行惡、此群羊何所為、求主我之天主、攻我攻我或作降災於我與我之父家、勿降疫癘於民、

瑪挪亞祈於主曰、求主使所遣之神人、復至我所、以教我當如何待將生之子、天主允瑪挪亞所祈、婦坐於田、天主之使者就之、其夫瑪挪亞不在側、

主諭約書亞曰、今我以耶利哥與其王及其戰士、悉付爾手、

我舉目而觀、見一牡綿羊、立於河濱、生兩角、兩角皆高、但彼角高於此角、更高者後生、

雅各舉目見以掃率四百人至、遂區分諸子、令利亞拉結及二婢率之、

瑪挪亞謂妻曰、我儕見神、必致死亡、

以掃舉目見婦與子問曰、此偕爾者為誰、曰、此諸子、天主施恩賜於僕者也、
