那時約書亞將起誓作警告說：『凡起來重建這城、這耶利哥的、那人必在永恆主面前受咒詛：他立根基時必喪長子；他安門時必喪幼子。』

当时，约书亚叫众人起誓说：“有兴起重修这耶利哥城的人，当在耶和华面前受咒诅。他立根基的时候，必丧长子，安门的时候，必丧幼子。”

之后，约书亚起誓说：“重建耶利哥城的人必定在耶和华面前受咒诅，他立地基的时候必死长子，建城门的时候必丧幼子。”

那时，约书亚要人民起誓，说：“起来重建这耶利哥城的，那人在耶和华面前是可咒可诅的；他立地基的时候必丧长子；他安城门的时候必失幼子。”

At that time Joshua pronounced this solemn oath:“ Cursed before the Lord is the one who undertakes to rebuild this city, Jericho:“ At the cost of his firstborn son he will lay its foundations; at the cost of his youngest he will set up its gates.”

At that time Joshua made a promise and called down a curse. He said,“ May the person who tries to rebuild this city of Jericho be under the Lord’ s curse.“ If that person lays its foundations, it will cost the life of his oldest son. If he sets up its gates, it will cost the life of his youngest son.”

Joshua laid an oath on them at that time, saying,“ Cursed before the Lord be the man who rises up and rebuilds this city, Jericho.“ At the cost of his firstborn shall he lay its foundation, and at the cost of his youngest son shall he set up its gates.”

At that time Joshua invoked this curse:“ May the curse of the Lord fall on anyone who tries to rebuild the town of Jericho. At the cost of his firstborn son, he will lay its foundation. At the cost of his youngest son, he will set up its gates.”

At that time Joshua imposed this curse: The man who undertakes the rebuilding of this city, Jericho, is cursed before the LORD. He will lay its foundation at the cost of his firstborn; he will finish its gates at the cost of his youngest.

Then Joshua made them take an oath at that time, saying,“ Cursed before the Lord is the man who rises up and builds this city Jericho; with the loss of his firstborn he will lay its foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son he will set up its gates.”

Then Joshua charged them at that time, saying,“ Cursed be the man before the Lord who rises up and builds this city Jericho; he shall lay its foundation with his firstborn, and with his youngest he shall set up its gates.”

And Joshua charged them with an oath at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before Jehovah, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: with the loss of his first- born shall he lay the foundation thereof, and with the loss of his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.

At that time Joshua imposed this curse: The man who undertakes the rebuilding of this city, Jericho, is cursed before the Lord. He will lay its foundation at the cost of his firstborn; he will set up its gates at the cost of his youngest.

And Joshua adjured[ them] at that time, saying, Cursed[ be] the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest[ son] shall he set up the gates of it.

At that time Joshua made this solemn declaration:“ The man who attempts to rebuild this city of Jericho will stand condemned before the LORD. He will lose his firstborn son when he lays its foundations and his youngest son when he erects its gates!”

Joshua commanded them with an oath at that time, saying,“ Cursed is the man before Yahweh who rises up and builds this city Jericho. With the loss of his firstborn he will lay its foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son he will set up its gates.”

當亞哈在位的日子、有伯特利人希伊勒重建耶利哥城；立根基的時候他喪了長子亞比蘭，安門的時候他喪了幼子西割，正如永恆主的話、就是他由嫩的兒子約書亞經手所說過的。

以東若說：『我們現在雖被毁壞，卻必重建廢墟』，萬軍之永恆主卻這麼說：『他們儘管建造，我卻必拆毁，直到他們被叫做邪惡之境地、永恆主永遠惱怒的人民。』

耶穌卻不作聲。大祭司對他說：『我指着永活的上帝誓囑你，告訴我們，你是上帝的兒子、上帝所膏立者不是。』

那時有幾個來往各處、念咒趕鬼的猶太人也着手向有惡靈在身的人稱起主耶穌的名來，說：『我指着保羅所宣傳的耶穌誓逐你們！』

祭司要叫那婦人起誓，對她說：「若沒有人和你同寢，你做丈夫妻子時、若沒有邪行而被玷污，這能招致咒詛的苦水、就與你無干。但你做丈夫妻子時若有邪行、若被玷污；在你丈夫以外、若有人和你同寢」，（這時祭司就叫那婦人用咒詛的話來起誓；祭司又對那婦人說）：「永恆主叫你的大腿消瘦、你的肚子發脹時，願永恆主叫你在你的族人中成了受咒詛和起誓的話柄；

那一天以色列人很窘迫，因為掃羅對人民起誓說：『凡未到晚上、我還未從仇敵身上報完了仇以前喫甚麼食物的人、都必受咒詛』；因此人民連嘗嘗甚麼食物都沒有。那時國內全地、人進入了森林，都有蜜在地面上。人民進了森林，聽見有蜜滴下來，卻沒有人敢伸手取蜜入口，因為怕那起誓的話。原來約拿單沒有聽見他父親向人民所起的誓，故此伸出手中的杖，用杖頭蘸在蜂房裏，轉手送到口中；這一來，他眼睛就明亮了。人民中有一個人應時地說：『你父親曾向人民鄭重地起誓說：「今天喫甚麼食物的人必受咒詛」；因此人民都疲乏了。』約拿單說：『我父親把這地方搞壞了；你看，我嘗了這一點蜜，我眼睛就明亮了。何況隨意地喫呢？假使今天人民得以隨意地喫喝從仇敵所掠奪的東西，那我們在非利士人中所擊殺的豈不更多麼？』雖然如此，那一天以色列人在非利士人中還一直地擊殺、從密抹直到亞雅崙，以致人民疲乏極了。人民急於攫取掠得物，就把牛羊和小牛宰於地上，帶血就喫了。有人告訴掃羅說：『你看，人民喫了帶血的肉、犯罪得罪了永恆主了。』掃羅對那告訴他的人說：『將一塊大石頭輥到我這裏來吧。』掃羅又說：『你們散開在人民中間，對他們說：「你們各人要將自己的牛或羊牽到我這裏來，在這裏宰了喫，不可犯罪得罪了永恆主，而喫帶血的肉。」』這一夜眾民就各把自己的牛牽到手，在那裏宰了。掃羅為永恆主築了一座祭壇；這是他開始為永恆主築的祭壇。掃羅說：『我們今夜要下去追趕非利士人，擄掠他們、直到晨光發亮，不讓剩下一人。』眾民說：『你看怎麼好，就怎麼行吧。』祭司說：『我們應當先在這裏親近上帝。』掃羅求問上帝說：『我下去追趕非利士人可以不可以？你將他們交在以色列人手裏不交？』這一天上帝沒有回答他。掃羅說：『人民所有的中堅人物啊，你們都要走近前來到這裏，來察知、來看明今天這罪是在哪裏。我指着那拯救以色列的永活永恆主來起誓，即使是我兒子約拿單，他也必須死。』眾民中沒有一個人回答他。掃羅對以色列眾人說：『你們過去在一邊，我和我兒子約拿單過來在一邊』；人民對掃羅說：『你看怎麼好，就怎麼行吧。』掃羅說：『永恆主以色列的上帝啊，你今天為甚麼不回答你僕人呢？這罪孽如果是在我或我兒子約拿單，永恆主以色列的上帝啊，求你給「烏陵」吧；但這罪孽如果是在你人民以色列，那麼、永恆主以色列的上帝啊，求你給「土明」吧。』於是約拿單和掃羅被拈着；人民就出脫無事了。掃羅說：『在我和我兒子約拿單之間、你們再給拈下來吧』；約拿單就被拈着了。掃羅對約拿單說：『告訴我，你幹了甚麼事了？』約拿單告訴掃羅說：『我真地用我手中的杖頭蘸了一點蜜嘗一嘗；看哪，我在這裏；我準備死。』掃羅說：『約拿單哪，你必須死；若不然，願上帝這樣懲罰，並且加倍地懲罰。』人民對掃羅說：『難道約拿單這位在以色列中施行這麼大的拯救的、必須死麼？絕對不可。我們指着永活的永恆主來起誓，連他一根頭髮也不可落地，因為他今天和上帝一同作事。』這樣；人民就贖救了約拿單免致死亡。於是掃羅上去、不追趕非利士人；非利士人也往自己的地方去了。

王對他說：『我須要誓囑你幾次，你才奉永恆主的名不對我說別的、只說實話呢？』
